Let me put this as simply as I can. We once had an Empire and traded with the world. WW2 and the USA put an end to that. So recovering from the war we joined the Common Market, easy to access selling goods and stuff. The Common Market changed into a European Economic Community, and still we stayed. The EEC changed into a European Union, with flags, anthems, laws, currency, foreign affairs, trading policy and centralised bureaucracy, and we’re on the cusp of having an EU army. All the time reducing our trade to Europe and the EU’s GDP. At this point we woke up and decided this was fine for Europe and the East Europeans who just wanted our money. Now we are free, still have relations with the EU which will improve once they get over our rejection, but are able to plot our own course which we are now doing with the CPTPP. A group btw that no EU country can join because of its own bureaucracy and laws. France and Germany are absolutely dependent upon the EU for a captured market, we aren’t. Our path is to be free, make our own decisions and deal with whoever we want without 27 other countries having a veto……
Please stop banging on about the EU Army. It’s not happening

I used the words mass murder, slavery and famine, yet rape is the only word you take issue with?

Hmmm.

Anyway Peter, I might suggest you take a little look at the history of these British Isles, it’s bbnot a great read from around 1100 or so.

Tbh I agree with you. What happened in the past was done by people who are no longer here. Would I invade someone else’s country, no, and I assume nor would you, but the Empire also brought some good to the world, Canada, Australia and New Zealand are modern countries although yes the indigenous folk suffered but are now doing ok. The Empire also brought peace to a quarter of the planet and lifted countries above their development stage. I’m not saying it was good or bad, but it was certainly better than the way other European countries did it…

Could you enlighten me on where the headquarters are, who the staff are and who the troops are?

Let me stop you right there. Cuz the rest is bollocks anyway. East Europeans involvement is very (third) eye opening though.

You didn't stay and reduce anything and were among the first countries to try and get into the EEC and the EU, wonder why? Charles de Gaulle (DEM PESKY FRENCH AMIRITE?) stopped you though, funnily enough lol In fact, you had leaders of the EU being British in the 70s, because up until some deranged bloke with a yellow toupee and a man who looks more like a fish than a human being told you "EU BAD". You can read up on how the EEC and the EU started, again it's free reading in many places, they cover a lot of the treaties too.

Common flag, anthem, whatever - yeah, remember when on St. George's day you had to sing the European National Anthem?

When you say "their own laws" you should really, really read up on how that works - it's free reading, I can provide some links for you if you want, no bother.

A group no one in the EU wants to join... because it's literally physically (geographically, if you prefer that) half the globe away lol Not because of bureaucracy and laws - the EU and the UK when they were in the EU still traded with the countries and the organisation, it's literally written in any document and article about it lol In fact, some of your own economy experts are very indifferent or negative about the deal. Shockingly, tories (Sunak and all) are singing it tons of praise, and no one else lol
Just point out where I am wrong and I’ll get back….
Half of it I answered above, and I know for a fact you won't get back, but I've got a few more minutes to spare.

Payments are looked at in GDP%, not raw money. Calculations of how those are made are well beyond our comprehension as it involves quite a lot of math, but it hasn't hurt any country or their economy and chances are it never will.

No idea what some of your deranged angry anti-immigrant writings mean in all honesty, bizarre reading in any case, still eager to see these countries growing faster than the "sclerotic EU" that the UK is striking mega trade deals with.

The stuff about the common currency, which you didn't have and no one pushed onto you to have and is literally optional specifically for Britain; the anthem and stuff was addressed.

Literally no one is stopping you to trade with whoever you want in the EU btw - in fact, half of Eastern Europe is/was (war and all currently) trading with Azerbaijan/Russia/Turkey, because, and I hope you're sitting down and ready for this, they're geographically closer to us for some commodities! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!?

Really sad to see a lot of you older and more gullible people have drank the piss-coloured kool aid and still believe it's not piss while you gargle it like that. It stinks and everyone can tell and laughs at you, but you remain confident it's just lemonade.

Can't wait for you to "get back" with some definitely grounded argument about the sun never setting on the empire or something from even further back.

Ohhhhh brutal. He's walked in and stomped all over Pete's head in a merciless assault. A wexing by any other name.

You see this is where you lose it, “your deranged angry anti-immigrant writings”. I have no issue with legal immigration, never have and never will have. I’ve worked all over the world and loved dealing with everyone I’ve met. My children live and work across the globe and I have foreign daughters in law and grandchildren born, based and living all around the world. I get daily WhatsApp videos from Saudi Arabia, Philippines, Romania, and the USA, as well as the U.K. showing my grandkids growing up. So by all means have a go at my politics, but please don’t ever accuse me of being anti-immigrant……
