Back to the thread proper. Why will no one touch the 'seasonal worker' issue, from the position of 'the cost of living crisis'. By that I mean agriculture underpaying field labour simply doesn't fly as working for a few quid on the margins is no longer viable, these workers still need food and water and shelter and fuel for warmth and travel. With those aspects under such pressure to all, how is there expectation that the cauliflowers and broccoli and dare I say turnip harvesters can afford to weather the financial shUtshow and soldier on for the benefit of 'my' table? brexit sent a signal that a slight majority wanted the white cliffs of Dover exactly as they are (white!) and any good will or welcoming attitude to those prepared to do the jobs some in the uk are to good for dried up nearly instantly. The irony is with voting as it went, the uk is now reaping what it has sewn.

Down with brexit and all the spivs, liars, cheats, thieves, shysters and predominantly tories that delivered it. The single largest act of self harm a country has ever joyfully enacted that I can recall.

Don't forget the dreadnaught.

Sunak said the fact that Northern Ireland was able to have open access to the EU and unhindered trade with the UK's home market was "an unbelievably special position" unavailable to any other trading nation. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this "most exciting economic zone" was what we all had prior to idiots like him leading us out of the EU?

Doesn't that mean the rest of us a have a bad deal, and perhaps the rest of the UK should move back into the customs union?

Everyone but the DUP and hard Brexiteers will welcome the deal, it would be churlish not to. However, surely people will see that the comparative future success of business in Northern Ireland (which is forecast) shows what a stinking pile of [Poor language removed] the country voted for. The rest of us will still be experiencing the country continue to slide down the pan while enjoying our ”Sovereignty“.
The Tories openly say that Northern Ireland will have the best of both worlds with single market access and that really means they have a better deal because they still have a little foothold in the EU. Reckon lightbulb moment for a lot of people.

Rather remarkable its the Tories themselves are now providing proof that staying in the EU at the very least is better for business and trade. What arguments are left. I suppose I guess as many suspected its now for the racists who will be shouting about keeping all those nasty foreigners out, however, that’s not going very well either. Even those knuckle dragging morons must have now concluded by now it wasn’t people with a brown skin taking their jobs that had ruined their lives, their life was crap because of those running the country.
