Yeah, actually you can see it in loads of old martial arts films set in the feudal era, good example is the Master of the Flying Guillotine

The story behind this goes that a Swedish c(o)unt (yeah, we love those neighbours also ) donated the air force's first plane at 1918 and that swastika was his lucky charm. Out of respect the air force kept the symbol until 2020.
