….the old ground isn’t looking too bad these days. Before I retired I was in Peel Park (end of M55) a few days per week & we sometimes used Bloomfield for interview panels etc.
Been through lots of transformations over the decades. Including a period, under the Oystains, when we played in a two sided stadium. The offices at the ground still used by NHS and others I think.
Still got the so called temporary East stand which was built to allow us in the Prem basically. Simon Sadler the chairman has stated he has plans to get a new multi purpose stand built. Could be dependent partly on preserving Championship status though. Hoping for a new training ground too. Well overdue.
Hasn't changed much at Squires Gate TG since the 50s. Owen Oyston inferred he would address the issue out of the windfall £90million from the Prem money. Soon changed tack though. He famously stated that the facilities were good enough for Stanley Matthews so they are good enough for you.
