What I meant was, How come this and similar wasn't primetime viewing everynight? It appears a lot of media channels carried the vote leave line and the remain side wasn't catered for nearly as well. There was and still is rancor in the tory benches about this charade, the more light shone on the lies and the liars the better, and if its blue on blue alls the better.
It was on Andrew Marr which was a fairly prominent political show at the time. The fact is the remain side were overly confident and so didn’t really kick into action until it was too late. I agree it should have been shouted from the rooftops the mess we were going to get into. And the lies should have been called out way earlier. Sadly we’re all having to deal with it now.

If I didn't know better I'd think there's a charm offensive at play, did someone say 'trade deal'?

Incidentally, I'm not sure I'd want to race on any UK roads at the moment. I did a usual 100km or so loop at the weekend and they were in a truly dreadful state. It's bad enough when you have potholes in otherwise nice roads, but it feels increasingly like the entire road is just a complete, pebble-dashed mess.

That explains why they cycle down my lane en masse.
There's a lane/road that is the main route out of town for most riders in south/south-east London. It's one of those that's not really wide enough for two cars to pass easily (especially as cars seem to be getting wider and wider). I usually get out early to avoid people as much as possible, but when I come back it's often a constant stream of riders. There's not really any need for motorists to use it, but many do because they think it's a short cut, so you have a bunch of riders trying to avoid the potholes and a fair number of angsty motorists trying to squeeze past where they can. I'm never around when it's that busy, but I can't imagine it's enjoyable for anyone.

I was being jocular. For as long as I can remember our lane has been part of the national cycle map thing, and 99% of car traffic is local, so its like the numerous horse riders. Buy a house on that lane, and what do you expect will happen? Cyclists, riders, and drivers seem to respect each other from my experience. We all jump out the way of a speedy fully laden tractor mind. They are the Daddy of the lane.

Even though the government sent a brochure to every house in the U.K. spelling out the issues of Brexit and the benefit of being in the Eu….yeah no one had a clue……

Sounds familiar…..

I’ve noticed a fair few cyclists on the coastal routes round Lisbon. Has some fairly savage hills and don’t think the locals really understand it.

a) I didn’t say no one had a clue
b) A brochure through the door is not going to work as well as the campaign full of lies that Leave carried out. Don’t know the last time I looked at any form of brochure/leaflet/flyer in my post. I bloody well saw a bus all over the news spouting bull about £350m a week to the NHS though

I remember a certain politician spouting ‘24 hours to save the NHS’ on a previous occasion. Politicians eh. The bus and its £350m gets wheeled out every time there is this sort of debate. It makes for a great picture but almost certainly had little effect upon the referendum. I do remember the leaflet, and although biased towards remain at least provided a view of why the PM of the day believed remaining was the way forward. I am of the opinion that together with Boris Johnson, Jeremy Corbyn proved to be the biggest enabler of Leave because he and Labour did very little campaigning for Remain.….

I agree with your last sentence; however, to say that the "£350M a week" had little effect on the referendum is misleading. I heard a good many people saying we shouldn't be sending money to Brussels and similar nonsense. Dominic Cummings, who was one of the main driving forces behind the Leave campaign, highlighted the £350M Bus as one of the chief reasons for their victory. Both he and Boris Johnson have admitted since that it was a lie, of course.
