Pete, if the government knows they're advisory, then by simply having the referendum they agreed?

I'm not suggesting for a minute that it's going to be overthrown.

We had a referendum to enter the EEC, no one, however they voted believed it was 'advisory'. Let me ask you a simple question 'when you voted remain did you believe this was an advisory vote'.....be honest.....

If all referendums are advisory then yes.

Not that it makes a difference, it's purely a formality I'm sure.

No, you said, 'if all referendums are advisory' which was not what I asked. I asked you what you believed at the time of your vote, did you really believe your vote was only advisory........
Ah ok. Yes, I listen to Roger Phillips' phone in daily, and much was made, pre-referendum, that it was 'advisory'.

So yes, I knew, but more has been made of it since.

Just to be clear, yes is my answer.

Head in the sand.

I didnt say that was your motivation, but you are absolutely incorrect if you don't think millions voted with a different motivation than you.

Of course millions voted with a different motivation to myself, we are all different with different views and issues.....but that doesn't mean that they followed your view of the vote......

Well in that case, my issue lies with those who voted leave in protest, or without really knowing what they voted for.

You should always vote for what you think is right, not simply to 'get at' a government. Those who voted leave or remain with conviction have done the right thing.

Those who've protest-voted have not done the right thing, for me at least.

The fact that the day after the referendum "what is the EU?" was the most googled thing in the UK says a lot. People have voted while totally uninformed. That's down to both campaigns and the government.

Equally mate the obvious counter to your googling remark is why did so many people need to Google the EU? Could it be that it doesn't positively affect people's lives even to the extent that they are aware of its existence, amd tje expense of being a member was therefore deemed not worthwhile?

No offence but I think advocating a revote is a front to democracy and quite frankly absurd.
