Look folks, another 'Remain' crier...
And if the result was different, you think those of the opposite opinion would have gone 'well ok that's that'?

Be realistic.

Before the actual referendum, there was talk from the leave camp (when they thought they'd lose) that they would contest a close decision.

I for one would have accepted the decision with good grace........

you have to go with the result I was very surprised the Remainers lost TBH
Its vital that the negotiations go favorably for the UK

Your kind bore the tits off me. It is YOU and your like who haven't a clue as to how dictatorial the EU has become. You just want to paddle around in the safety of the 'status quo' and be dictated to by European gobshites for ever and a day. And that's a fact, matey. Beggers belief! Wake up to reality...
I have issued a warning which has resulted in a short ban here.

Folks, I appreciate that things can get heated, but resorting to insults (from either side) is not wanted. Well done to those who can debate like adults.

This is why political threads get closed.

Oh no I'm certainly not suggesting violence.

I just feel it's all a whole load of silly bickering.

We either have votes and respect the results or we scrap democracy. Anyone asking for a revote is a hypocrite. I bet they don't ask for one next time they agree with the outcome.

The will of the majority is going to implemented. Whether it benefits us all remains to be seen. But the claims from elements of the left that we are completely doomed are pure guesswork. They're as silly as the claims from some in the right that with brexit everything is immediately sorted. Despite brexit, life goes on, and the entrenched views either way are not helpful.

Is there any legal justification for a revote?

I'm no lawyer. But surely if there's a decision taken to have a second vote on an issue without evidence of electoral fraud then there's a legal precedent for any vote to be retaken when someone is unhappy. It would be a whole can of worms. No vote taken would ever actually matter as it could simply be dismissed and held again. I think that's a farcical situation

Well in that case, my issue lies with those who voted leave in protest, or without really knowing what they voted for.

You should always vote for what you think is right, not simply to 'get at' a government. Those who voted leave or remain with conviction have done the right thing.

Those who've protest-voted have not done the right thing, for me at least.

The fact that the day after the referendum "what is the EU?" was the most googled thing in the UK says a lot. People have voted while totally uninformed. That's down to both campaigns and the government.
