Missing the point again mate. Your wretched incompetent government are doing nothing about the real issues of the day while inventing straw man enemies for the Shires to rage at.

No one is raging against anything just pointing out the realities of what is happening. I don’t care how many people come here, just do it legally and not trafficked by criminals, on a boat or the death trap sealed wagons…

The realities of what is happening is the Government are pitiful in response to the real problems of the day. I don’t think you’ve ever pointed that out.
Instead you stigmatise the French and Civil Servants at every opportunity and say there’s nothing to be done about inflation / energy costs as these are a “global” problem. As if we’re somehow somewhere else.

What would you do ?…..

I’m not the Government. They at least should have some idea. Something constructive, you know.
I know the papers and political commentators are saying why tf hasn’t Whittle come up with anything yet but then, I don’t have to.
It may not be the Government’s fault, but it is their responsibility. That is where they continually fall down, choosing to rely instead on shirking and grifting.

Ok, so let’s go through the options, reduce tax and let people keep more of their money, this is the Truss view. Keep the tax as is and give targeted payments hopefully to those that need it, this is the Sunak view. Tax the power and fuel companies more, or even give them money to keep prices down for the public. Galvanise all of the Western powers and the likes of Saudi to force a price limit on gas and fuel, eliminate competition and ‘market forces’ for those who are driving the price up. Put aside all of the ‘green’ costs and ambitions and other such nonsense such as ‘carbon trading’ until we are past this and can afford it. Reduce all public building spending on power and fuel apart from strategic bodies, NHS, etc. Get all western countries to agree and print more money.

any views ?

You missed nationalizing the energy companies. They've had enough bail outs as it is.

Oh there’s loads can be done. But for every suggestion there are pro’s and cons and risks. I’ve no doubt the government have already been through them all and the professional civil servants will be weighing up the costs and cost benefits. But we are in a bit of a political hiatus at the moment because the single most important issues of the day and the opposition were ‘Partygate’ and was Boris aware of the nonce within the whips office. So now we wait until early September before anyone makes a bleeding decision….

It didn't have to September though, stringing out this ridiculous election for weeks on end whilst the country is facing multiple crises. The ultimate in navel gazing.

It’s bloody crazy. But everyone knows the process, Tories and Labour…..Sunak the backstabber should just throw in the towel and allow Truss to take over, but he won‘t because he knows the knives will shortly be pointing at his back and that his political career is over……

The process should be changed, as I said, navel gazing to the nth degree.

Government did not and could not come to a halt because of that. It’s just a flimsy excuse after 12 years of Tory govt.
You think pros and cons are an excuse for indolence?
A political hiatus? A leadership hiatus more like.
