Turned down an extremely good job offer in Holland as it is unworkable without freedom of movement, thank you so very much brexiteer whoppers, you've made the world a worse place

I don't know your field, but the CTA, in force since 1922, allows UK and Irish citizens to move between, reside and work in each jurisdiction. It was re-signed in 2019 after the Brexit vote. so it remains in force.

Ireland is not a bad place to live!!

I'm heading over to see friends in August, will be going on to do a surf trip round Ballycroy and very much looking forward to it.

Lovely part of the country although I would find the winters too long, having spent Sept to Dec 89 in Clifden, Connemara. I didn't see the sun for most of the four months!!

Have a look on Jobs.ie for a flavour of what is available. Everything from well paid Tech and Pharma to retail assistants is listed.

As posted previously the number of Britons living in ROI has gone from c 110,000 in 2011 to about 280,000 in 2017 (Source U,N,)!!

No surprise and thanks for the tip mate. I'm frustratingly one generation away from an Irish passport!

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but yeh the queuing!

And when, so choked with outrage that we can’t even breathe, let alone formulate words, we are reduced to conveying our disapproval with hand signals, our Brexit overlords will turn round, all innocent, and say: “Isn’t this what you said you wanted?"
