Mary Lou has brought SF to a new level. She has an intelligence that is starting to convince middle of the road voters . Over 30% with FF and FG in the 20s

Agreed mate, shes an excellent politician, SF will be the next goverment in my opinion. FF and FG signed there own death warrent getting into bed with each other. There just isnt an alternative and SF are promoting those populist binary policies i speak off. They are now realistically the only alternative.

Never ceases to surprise me in the free west and in big democracies how limited choice actually is in voting for government.

One thing is certain, no matter how bad things get here and no matter how much the cost of living increases, there will always be a chunk of people saying “stop crying, you lost, get over it etc.” as they stand at the pumps filling their clapped out Astra up with Diesel at £2 a litre digesting their afternoon meal of pan fried rat.

“Stop crying about it lad why you crying lad you lost lad lol”

It absolutely boggles my mind. It’s like a competition of who can suffer the most before inevitably breaking. It doesn’t make you tough and noble, it just makes you look like a complete and utter fool.

She is heading to be the first woman Taoiseach. She regularly flays the Government in the Dáil. FF must rue the time they allowed her to leave because of misogyny. A very astute, intelligent lady. I don't agree with SF policies but tbh neither do I with FF FG Labour or the Greens.

Bit of name dropping- Ivana Bacik was in my Law class in Trinity. A big St Pat's fan. A huge improvement on Kelly.

So you don't thing the EU are experiencing the same levels of pandemic/Ukraine based inflation? On the fuel front, some are higher than the UK.

Both are also big factors.

The lack of HGV drivers crisis and associated knock in effects, for example was purely a Brexit consequence.

That strangely was also suffered in Germany and throughout Europe, although I can’t imagine Covid had anything to do with it…must be Brexit. Any day now Brexit will also get the blame for Russia invading Ukraine…..

Well there were warnings that Brexit could lead to a destablisation of Europe, which when you think that as well as backing Brexit, Putin was also backing the likes of Le Pen, Wilders, Grillo, not to mention Babis, Orban, Duda et al, all of whom have agitated for the breakup of the EU. Thankfully the people of France and Netherlands rejected the extremists in a way Britain did not, while Czechs eventually got sick of Babis too, but none was for the want of trying by Putin. It doesn't seem to have dawned on you, or if it has it doesn't bother you, that what you've been backing all these years is exactly what Putin wanted. But then given that you hero worship a man deemed a security risk due to his ties with Russia and a party that is stuffed to the eyeballs with Russian cash, maybe it shouldn't be a surprise.

I was to polite to mention it. lol

Is this it now, this is your whole argument that Brexit was brought about by Russia and got 17.4 million people to vote for it. If they are so clever and we are all so stupid how come they didn’t manage to get Corbyn elected or even the LibDems…or maybe they are not that clever after all, or maybe this is just the latest remainer go at the Leave voters because the racist, stupid, old, empire loving attacks didn’t work…pathetic really….

Well, Russia Today published over 200 articles on the referendum, nearly all with a pro-Leave stance. Bannon and other Leave cronies were also heavily funded by the Kremlin, with Russian (pro-leave) bots garnering around 10 million impressions around the days leading up to the vote. I don't think it matters really whether this activity made the difference between a Leave victory or a Remain victory, as it will always be difficult to determine just how influential this was. For me, the bigger issue is that Putin was advocating something quite clearly, and that something is almost certainly not in Britain's best interests, otherwise why would he back it? Do you think he was being supportive of the country and of Europe more broadly?

For me Bruce the bigger issue is that a U.K. political party called the Liberal Democrats wish to ignore a democratic vote and attempt to reverse its outcome. How they can use the word Democrat in their name is similar to the use by the Democratic Republic of Congo…….

The semantics regarding the name of the forth biggest political party in the U.K. is of bigger concern than foreign interference in domestic voting?

There has been no foreign interferenice…three left wing nutters from London may follow their instructions, the rest of the country doesn’t read, listen or watch Twitter or whatever….

It's almost like Cambridge Analytica never happened or that Dominic Cummings didn't personally attribute the importance of social media to the vote.
