Absolute pain going anywhere near a petrol station at the moment with the sheer volume of clowns clogging up the roads to panic buy. I've only been driving 4 or 5 years... has this happened in recent history or is this a Conservative special?

Happened about 20 years ago, but that was literally not having much petrol in the UK cos of strikes elsewhere iirc.

How long until the campaign starts to go back into the EU?

The Scots lost their independence vote and haven't stopped pushing at all.

If Labour put it on their manifesto I'd vote for them as would plenty of others I assume.

I'm afraid that us re-joining is off the agenda for a generation at least. For one thing why would the EU accept us? At best, there'd be a sizable minority in the UK who would immediately campaign to leave. I can't see the EU touching us with a barge pole, to say nothing of the distinct lack of attraction for any political party in the UK to think of re-starting the whole Brexit arguments.

Blockades of refineries because the cost of petrol was astronomical IIRC. About £1.10 per litre.

I remember it. I'd been driving about a month, and my first heap of a car had fallen half apart so it was in the garage for the duration and I was back on the trains.

Be suicide for Labour to put on any manifesto, an attempt to rejoin. They’re best not mentioning Brexit at all as it would further split their vote. In fact they’re best saying nothing and watching the tories implode.
