There are plenty of practices that have been banned/regulated in the UK for about 20 years that are still allowed in Australia.

Hot branding, transport of live animals, poor food additives, slaughter practices, poultry rearing, no pain relief for nasty stuff.

Not a great look mate.

Just going to be regurgitation of Liz Truss who was on BBC breakfast yesterday morning she was questioned about animal welfare standards in Australia. She tried to fob the interviewer off by saying that they are higher than in some EU countries which doesn't say much for them. However, I thought the whole argument against being in the EU was that we all had to abide by the same rule book and couldn't set our own agenda so she shot herself in the foot there as they often do.

They do, and those establishments outside of the EU, who wish to trade with the EU, need to abide by those same rules

Shock horror, Liz Truss knows nothing.

REEDS recruitment saying wages are going up on average 4% , fruitpicker ect see the rate going up as well.
Good news for the low paid in this country , including those EU citizens who chose to stay and live here.
Yes, there appears to be a labour shortage in a lot of countries at the moment so a lot of employers are having to raise their wages. At the moment it's not appearing to make much of a difference (and it's prompting some to worry about inflation etc.).

Glad someone mentioned this - that's the obvious issue. Wages don't rise in a vacuum.

Lost their legal challenge against Az. Idiots

I said they would all along.

“The Anglo-Swedish drugs giant celebrated its victory after a Brussels-based court dismissed the European Commission’s complaints against the firm. Judges ruled that the EU has no exclusive right or priority over any jabs manufactured by the firm”

This is yet another demonstration of the EU believing it is all powerful. I now hope that AZ take them to the cleaners for defamation and reputational damage.....

I think the EU's only interest was to deflect blame.

I don't think they expected to win in court.

Australian farmers have a labour shortage.

They see this deal with the UK as a good way to get our youngsters into Australia to help make up the shortfall.
