If a deal doesn’t work for all parties as expected then it should be amended, that’s what rational people do. The U.K. will do what is right for NI and if need be throw the whole WA in the bin and go to WTO. If I were you I’d be more concerned about the effect of the Australian deal upon Irish beef production and exports, the EU allocation of fish quotas, and the forthcoming changes to corporation tax that will affect the South. NI will do OK......
Apart from the resumption of sectarian violence as the hard border goes back up?

*adds to the benefits of Brexit pile.

Better than waiting 25 years and getting 27 countries and god knows how many regional governments to agree to something....

Just so I have this straight, you'd rather a fast and terrible deal over a good, slow one that accounts for the interests of everyone it affects? Quite an intriguing insight into your priorities there Pete

No, I’d rather a fast good deal that benefits the requirements of the two countries involved rather than a ridiculous decades long affair that tries to gain approval from the competing requirements of 27 nations plus 1....

It’s just another deal, but by bit it all adds up.....
It hardly compensates for the tens of billions being lost in trade with the EU though, which was always the point made by anyone who appreciates the importance of proximity to trade volume.

The majority of the population don’t understand or care about, and have never understood or cared about trade deals.

Though the CPTPP link is potentially interesting. I wonder if Johnson knows anything of it...

The CPTPP immediately overtakes the EU in economic size when the U.K. joins and it has the potential for the USA to join with it also. A very large Trading Bloc, not a new Superstate......
