in pete’s defence I have done some checking, and I think what he copied and pasted was a news report that was itself copied and pasted from the AZ press release

I don't see how that is any better. Journalists doing absolutely no research, taking AZ at their word, pumped out by one and copied by all.

Presumably he's corrected himself since?
