Not for the car industry which imports between 30% and 60% - depending on which car - from the EU. Which will be subject to tariffs of between 10% and 20% depending on which part. This will make car assembly more expensive and a depreciated pound will not compensate for this additional cost. Of course, there could be a major expansion of UK made car parts but that would take time, be expensive and businesses would find it difficult to get the finance for opening new factories or expansion.

So yet another opportunity......

Can you please explain how Corbyn's money tree differs from the expanded quantitative easing by the BoE since the Brexit vote to the tune of £435 billion? Thanks.

It's an interesting point actually. Corbyn talks about borrowing money and not printing it. The Uk got away with printing money without any real kickback because the markets believed the Tories were being responsible. If Labour did it then it would be regarded as irresponsible .....funny old world......

Those that wanted out in the Tory party have always been vocal often out doing those that want to remain in the EU. This is early days and the silence from those that want to remain was all to evident at the Tory conference. But that does not mean they are not going behind May's back and causing trouble. There will be more exposures like Rudd's business dealings the nearer the May government triggers Article 50 and there will be even more rifts during negotiations.

This amuses me Joey, 'why you propose the EU as the b all and end all when it has negative growth amazes me!' as I have never said the EU was the 'b all and end all'.

In or out the EU the UK economy will suffer as there are turbulent times ahead economically. The uncertainty of leaving the EU - a comfort blanket for businesses in particular finance - will make any turbulence greater. Unfortunately, the Tories will make a mess of things and the Tory party conference highlights that they don't know their backsides from their elbows.

If memory serves me right, whole cars are imported from Germany - Audi, VW, Merc, BMW. From France - Citroen, Renault, Peugeot. from Spain - Seat, From Italy Fiat, Alfa, Ferrari, Is that enough for you. So we import a few parts for the Mini, we are still way down in terms of balance of trade to the EU.

It doesn't matter what the reality is, that the Eu exports to us far more than we export to them, or that we are the second largest German Export surplus country by quite a long way. The remainers will not accept these facts. They only wish to believe that the EU is god and that we must obey. As time goes on they will learn.........

go on then show me every year for the last 20 years they have produced aufdited accounts -
In brief

Claim
The EU’s accounts haven’t been signed off for years.

Conclusion
Auditors say the accounts are accurate and have been since 2007. But they record significant errors in how money is paid, and this has been the case since 1995.
EU auditors refuse to sign off more than £100billion of its own spending
Critics attack the EU for demanding that David Cameron pays a £1.7 billion bill despite an official audit failing

"I rest my case your honour"

Err joey You said "it's never audited it's accounts"

And then you've replied with a quote that contains the following to try and prove your claim

"Despite an official Audit failing to give a clean bill of health"

rest your case indeed

The way the EU is going thank goodness we voted out. The EU is like an albatross around our necks.

Not so much an Albatross as an anchor, a chain, a brake. It needs everyone to be the same and to drag everyone down to an average. When we go, the Eu will reform or disintegrate but it will have to change. The UK brought a sensible voice which was probably not listened to. The unelected Presidents of the EU, all appointed in closed rooms, will continue to drive a continent down a blind alleyway until other countries get off their knees and do what we have done.........

We shall be getting from under the EU - german_jackboots.webp

I'm not sure what point you're making tbh. The EU finances haven't been signed off for years because of various corruption and lack of visibility. When were they last audited and the auditors signed them off......

Actually, they do sign them off, with about 4% being incorrectly spent.....

Joey provided information that said they've been audited. It's pretty simple
