What should British participation in the war grant British citizens in terms of their status in the EU Pete? And should Australian, Indian, Canadian and all the other non-EU, non-British participants in the war be granted the same rights?

Serious loss of humour going on in this thread....

Now you know and I know that the initial point raised was just the French having a little dig at the British....

monumental balls up by the EU on the vaccine
Explain this to me. The Commission go to AZ and say "we want 80 million doses of your vaccine please and for these to be delivered in Q1". AZ then come back and say "sure thing, we can do that" and sign a deal to that effect. They may have said we need €300 million to help get our manufacturing up to speed, which was agreed and delivered. Then several months later AZ say "yeah, about those vaccines we promised you, we're gonna have to lop off 60% of the number we had previously agreed on".

How is that on the EU again? People are saying that they signed the agreement late, which they did, but how does that hamper AZ's ability to deliver on the promise they themselves made? I've heard arguments that by not signing until later AZ weren't able to iron out their manufacturing, as though manufacturing the vaccine in Belgium is materially different to manufacturing it here. It's nonsense.

Pretty sure the CEO of AZ has confirmed they didn't agree to any set numbers? And in fact have told the EU to prove that they did.

So either he is lying or the EU know they have ballsed up and are trying every dark trick in the book to pass the blame onto AZ (vaccine doesn't work), (AZ are selling it to other countries for more money)

Both are a lie.

Despicable

Even Germany are blaming the EU. It’s only defenders seem to be based in the UK

Now this is not gloating, but is a fact, and it’s down to the EU and the EMA with their leaden footed approach to a pandemic...How anyone can attempt to defend this shower over this matter is incredible....

They ordered 300 million back in August.

It's not about a sense of humour when jingoism like yours has got us into a whole heap of a mess and costing businesses and livelihoods just because you love some weird notion of Britishness and war.

The main difference between those who voted Leave v Remain is that Leavers have the confidence to stand on their own two feet, and believe in the U.K., and do not require some slow moving bureaucratic comfort blanket based in Brussels.....
