Just to point out that in the export world, the country code UK does not relate to any country. They should have used GB, it is a rookie mistake and can be found online from many sources at no cost. Labelling standards are a part of export and you can't expect people to turn a blind eye or it would be illegal. Would you expect us to accept goods into the country that weren't labelled correctly? It is not the French that decide which code to use, they are just applying the standard set.

That Britain and Czech seem to be duking it out for the crappest at handling this in Europe is not really a good thing in my book.

Of course. And our companies will soon get on top of it all. My complaint is that we are not applying the same standards because we decided to give them a six month period to get up to speed, yet no reciprocal offer from the EU....

I think our Politicians and civil service can, on occasions, be naive. We also did it in respect of Eu nationals in the U.K. and we have done it again over this. We try to ‘play fair’ and the EU just laugh at us. But it was the same when we were in the EU and that, unfortunately on occasions, is the difference between us.....

But hang on, you said it was the EU that were dictating what was on the label. Then you made out it was the French being harsh. Now you are saying that we are not applying a standard of the agreement that we set. If you don't like the French, fair enough, but there is nothing there that is their fault, just our own. We could have extended the transition but chose not to all to keep Boris looking good. Its all on him.

No, we should apply the same standards. At the moment EU trucks are pouring into the U.K. full of goods and going back empty because of this. If we apply the rules exactly the same nothing moves in either direction and then they will all sort it out....

So, after wanting control of British borders, what you want now is to give a free pass to the goods coming through those borders? Do you have proof Britain is being laxer than the EU?
