I see that Eurostar is in a bit of difficulty. Of course it’s controlled by SNCF the French State Railway and is now at risk of bankruptcy. So even though the U.K. sold its share a few years back, the French are now asking us for a government bailout. So they do their best to stop our imports then ask us for a handout, even though what was it called, oh yes ‘level playing field’ and the use of state bailouts, was a big issue to them

I like Eurostar, it’s an easy way to get across the channel, but I’d rather Boris tell them where to shove their request and let it go bankrupt...unless we take the controlling interest.....

We are still Governed by EU state aid rules... Wether or not a this kind state intervention comes under EU control I have no idea

A clue: it doesn’t. Even under the EU governments were able to compensate firms directly affected by government action, and this happened with airlines.

I see. However, it's useful to know Johnson Brexit deal means we still kowtow EU state aid rules. Getting Brexit done. Ha ha ha. Many firms are now being being locked out of virus treasury support because of state aid rules Johnson signed up to. In the times etc.
