And he moved that part of his operation to Dublin as a direct effect of Brexit.

Rees Mogg stated that the planning for the fund was in place before Cameron even mentioned the chance of a referendum on Brexit.

Its on an interview with him on youtube

Well he changed his tune since.

And incidently, his investors in said fund(s) are now unsure what redress they have to FSA/FSCS now. Thats a compensation scheme they have, unwittingly, contributed to.

It is happening. It already has happened. You just dont notice or know.

Morgan Stanley has moved parts of its operation from London to the EU. Rees Mogg moved parts of his operation to Dublin.
To use a Covid analogy, this is like saying "yeah, look, that 400,000 deaths Ferguson predicted would happen (IF WE DID NOTHING AT ALL) hasn't happened, therefore predictions are crap" whilst simultaneously saying "yeah, the 80,000 deaths we've had so far are just a short-term blip because it was predicted to be 400,000, so we'll be right in the long-term".

My mate exports to the EU (mostly Germany and the Netherlands) and can't at the moment due to shipping costs, customs and VAT.

Global Britain is all well and good but when is this, if ever, going to happen? These small businesses don't have the time to sit on their hands.

Goes without saying, throwing away the relationship we had with countries we can literally drive to within hours and hoping India, China, USA will pick up the trade is beyond reckless. Especially given the green agenda we should be pushing.

Another tangible impact of Brexit, and not a good one.

As you say your mate can't at the moment does he think this is only temporary?

I just don't get the big sell on global Britain on actual physical items. Fine for the finance sector and such like. Actual physical goods to our nearest geographical neighbours has been made much more difficult and expensive.

And last I looked many countries that are spoken about are many hundreds of miles if not thousands further than Germany France and such like. The cost of transportation to the likes of India China and USA is just going cost more whether it's free of taxes and regulation or not.
