You know how desperate the Tories are when they asked Guido Fawkes to hawk around the following score card in order to try and head off internal Brexiteer criticism:

The UK wanted no such thing as an arbitration panel...they know how that ends. The EU knew the UK would never, could never, agree to the EU policing a trade deal. The EU just got them to accept their second worst nightmare.

THAT IS ALL.

  • Level playing field via arbitration panel
  • No deal from the EU over financial services sector
  • Concessions from the UK over fishing rights for EU fleets

That's the main architecture of this deal.

I’ll live with that.....

On a side note: I'm really looking forward to "principled and detemined anti-Brexiteer" Keir Starmer instructing his MPs to vote for this dogs breakfast.

An utter charlatan.

The problem with all this nonsense is people trying to show a ‘win’ for one side or the other. Any agreement means that ultimately both sides can live with whatever is in the agreement to a lesser or greater degree. This is not a war, it’s just part of a free trade agreement between the U.K. and EU.

If signed we now move on to other agreements with other countries and it looks like India is next......

That will be the funny part. But personally I hope that Westminster puts aside any party politics and votes either for or against based on what’s is in the agreement....

A deal is a relief and should be for everyone. If there's even a half decent trade agreement in place, I think everyone should stay schtum until it goes through whatever ratification processes it needs to and start waving their respective I Told You So flags after

Indeed. I hope Boris and VDL can keep a lid on the ‘we won’ idiots you will only undermine future relationships...it’s an agreement....

The UK lost because they are outside the single market now. This was just a matter of how much they lost by. And - shorn of spin - it looks like a big loss.
