Australia saying today that any trade deal with the UK would have to come after they've concluded one with the EU, which means nothing until 2019 at the earliest.
So it's just a matter of timing then......a deal will be done.....
It's illustrative though that they will deal with the EU first, and then us. Obama was widely chastised for saying just that.
The Eu having been working with the US etc on a deal for years and that will continue, the Eu are also now trying to get deals in place with a raft of countries. While we are in the Eu we cannot enact our own deals. Once we leave the EU deals will already have been lined up and will be introduced. Obama was rightly chastised in the USA for saying what he did and even this week has said that nothing must get in the way of US trade with the UK. The USA is basically saying to the Eu, dont screw it up for the UK. This is the only position they can take as we are a major trading nation with the USA, have long partnership ties with them, back them up at the UN and are a key part of NATO. These things count. The USA will be our biggest ally In getting a sensible Eu exit deal.
For the future, we will be able to put deals in place far quicker than the 27member Eu and they will be tailored for the UK and not a one size fits all........
Well, there are numerous rumours suggesting that TTIP is dead in the water, with Brexit helping that as we were one of the more enthusiastic supporters of it. These things are far from easy though. I mean the Doha round of the WTO talks was started in 2001 and is still dragging on. I'm sure bilateral deals are easier than multilateral ones, but still, it will be interesting to see how this unfolds.
Farage scared Cameron into giving the people the IN/ OUT vote with the rise of UKIP thats for sure no other party in this country bangeng on how bad the EU was as an organisation and our open borders - Dave thought he would win easily he had to resign!Farage is an idiot and is not the reason people voted for Brexit......
No one really knows as yet - May knows the pitfalls of the EU political union and she knows the advantage of trade deals as long as we end up better off I am not bothered in the least how it is achieved, as long as we have our sovereignty and control back and are about 9-10 billion better off!I'm picking that 'Brexit means Brexit' might just mean Brexit-lite ish...sort of, depending.

Good news!
TTIP appears to be dead in the water. Any trade deal between the UK and the US will be a renamed TTIP with all the pitfalls. The UK are in the queue, after the EU to strike a trade deal with Australia. But what trade exactly will boost economic growth, in the UK that doesn't take place now with Australia?
