I think it’s showing weakness actually. They announced this on the day that the EU released their report of rule of law within the EU, detailing non independence of judiciary, and corruption in a number of EU countries....

Doesn't their relative toothlessness belie this notion of their overreach into domestic politics? For all their justifiable angst, they haven't been able to do much with the likes of Poland, Hungary and Britain as they veered to the right and started behaving anti-democratically and illegally.

Except that if the U.K. had been in that report, you know that we would have addressed any issues. France will do what it normally does and ignore it while pointing fingers at Poland and Hungary. You are right though in that the EU will do nothing about it...The whole edifice is corrupt.....
