I don't know what Brexiteers were expecting, maybe blame, but not so easy...
The EU is rules based trade bloc, we are in the process of breaking international law so the EU will apply the rules.
I suppose other countries are now watching and if we want trade deals with them ? I expect we'll have to give more in the way of concessions due to breaking an international treaty as trust and good faith will no longer be applicable commodity for the UK...
The interesting country to watch now is Japan, the deal with them has been agreed in principle. However, they could decide not to ratify the deal. If they do, then that'll be quite hard to blame the EU. And of course Japan has a trade deal with the EU...
