So, you are not a civil servant, but know all about the negotiations. You are a Labour supporting Remainer, who doesn’t like Trump. You claim to support the U.K. over EU even though Trump is for a US U.K. deal yet Biden supports the EU. Now why don’t I believe that you support the U.K. over the EU.....
Bed ....take the bottle with you...have a good night ..get some help if you are drinking every day.

Keep it up lads, you just keep proving how little you know but try playing the man and not the ball. One day, one of you, call it a competition, might just add an intelligent contribution to this thread....I won’t hold my breath....

Blimey, let's hope the UK shows a bit more grit next week...

DIT ran humungous numbers of external stakeholder workshops on the UK:JP deal because lots of the sector had been around for the EU:JP deal and they leaned heavily on the experience. Surely you know this? The same is happening with UK:US.

And as referenced earlier - the FT, Spectator, Telegraph etc etc all ran pieces on the fact that Liz Truss nearly scuppered the deal at the death over wanting more on blue cheese - this despite the UK only exporting £2m to Japan. You don't need inside knowledge of this Pete, I just wanted you to admit that it was nearly ruined at Ministerial level.

Fine, so you inputted info based on whatever sector you are in. And Liz Truss pushed for blue cheese. Yet the deal has been done. Has your sector done badly from this deal? ....

It's done exactly the same as it would have done under EU:JP, Pete. And that's the core issue, millions have been spent on this alone to, er, stand still. What a waste of time and effort.

Now come on, I've answered your questions. Please answer mine - who exactly do we negotiate with for UK:US?

Depends on the result of the election. Personally I want Trump to win, because he will do a deal with the U.K. Biden hasn’t a clue and Pelosi will instruct him to put us ‘back of the queue’...

The next twelve months are incredibly important for the U.K. and all our families. Leaving the EU has been done, if we have a crap deal with the EU we leave ourselves open to future legal action and omission from financial services. We may be best to have no legal deal, trade on WTO and just get on with our lives. I know we are on opposite sides of Leave/remain, but I am 100% behind the best deals for the U.K., and our people.....

But Pete it doesn't just depend on the outcome of the election. Negotiations on UK:US are done at state level before the House / Presidential ratification. It is unbelievably complicated - Trump can't just tell us we'll get a good deal. As per the BBC today- even the Government isn't expecting the UK:US deal to be nearly done until the Spring, so we could be in a wild position where we have no deal with the EU and the US at the start of 2021. That's an insane place to find ourselves less than a year after the economy took a 20% hit.
