I’m looking forward to this. Can we start with sources of funding, net contributions and benefitting nations.....over to you teacher...

Yes, it's pretty standard stuff in most societies. Those who are wealthier pay proportionally more in order that those less fortunate can enjoy a standard of living affording them opportunity to participate in actions liable to be of economic benefit to them.

Let's have a look shall we.

Why would you look at that? The two biggest net beneficiaries are new, poorer member states currently having major improvements made to their transport, energy generation and environmental infrastructure to bring them up to a standard where they can compete in modern Europe. Boo I say. Boooooo.

Usually when you point out that within the UK, Pete's much loved London subsidises everywhere else, he talks about how London would die without the countryside providing us with mangetout.

Sir, a quick question. Why does Luxembourg, with the highest GDP per capita in the EU, by far, continue to be a net receiver of funding. Did it have anything to do with Juncker being from said country ?.....

You see, what you've done there is confused Luxembourg with a country. It is, in fact, a tax evasion scheme with some nice countryside attached.

I am not arguing the EU is perfect.

Sir, a follow up question. Why does Slovakia and Bulgaria, with populations x9 and x11 larger than Luxembourg respectively, and much poorer, get less money than the country of the previous President ?.....

If by not perfect you actually mean corrupt then I would agree with you, as would the auditors probably......

Well, just as well the UK is completely free of corruption then, isn't it? I mean you wouldn't see a contract for cross channel ferries awarded to a company with no ships who's owner happened to be mates with somebody or millions of pounds of medical contracts awarded to a shell company which just happens to be owned by somebody close to a minister, would you?
