Well, just as well the UK is completely free of corruption then, isn't it? I mean you wouldn't see a contract for cross channel ferries awarded to a company with no ships who's owner happened to be mates with somebody or millions of pounds of medical contracts awarded to a shell company which just happens to be owned by somebody close to a minister, would you?

There are loads of corrupt practices taking place at every level of government, from brown envelopes given for building planning permission to contracts given to mates. It’s a disgrace and culprits should be locked up, but at least our money is kept within the U.K. and our own economy. Even in football, the Europeans were up to their necks in corruption, Blatter, Platini anyone....

The idea that money gained through corruption stays in the UK to benefit the UK is absurd.

Sir, a follow up question. Why does Slovakia and Bulgaria, with populations x9 and x11 larger than Luxembourg respectively, and much poorer, get less money than the country of the previous President ?.....

So the EU should continue to ship €2,500 for every man, woman and child in Luxembourg because everyone is turning a blind eye and it’s always been that way....and the U.K. is paying 20% of that sum.....
