I don’t think so. I don’t approve of Boris because he understands the lives of people in our village. I approve of him because at least he has a sense of humour and is not violently tied to a single ideology. Most of them are miserable, single idea people who are as exciting as watching paint dry.....
So you approve of him because he is funny and flip flops constantly. He isn't tied to an ideology because he doesn't have one. At least he doesn't have one that people will go along with long term.

Genuinely what is Johnson's ideology? Other than saying whatever he thinks will let him keep power. He lies, he makes no sense, he has no regard for the country as a whole. But great, he has a sense of humour.

No, I just wanted to know when you go the pub and have a conversation do you regard it as a competition, something to be argued until you beat the other person to death, or do you just enjoy the communication....I enjoy a discussion on here, but there’s more to life than always winning.....
Some people just like having the last word Pete.

I would love to have a PM of the stature of Thatcher or Wilson, but we don’t have any. Labour tried to foist a nonentity in the shape of Corbyn onto the country and I’d take Boris over him any day of the week. Now they have an empty vessel in the shape of Starmer pitted against the man who, against all the odds, led a successful Leave campaign, whipped the HoC into shape and won a decisive GE with a huge number of seats. He’s doing what people voted for and has taken us out of the EU with one more stage to complete, and in the middle of this the Chinese have thrown the worst pandemic in 100 years at him. I think he’s doing alright......

Do you believe any Politician really has a clue about ordinary people or really cares. Perhaps 20 or 30 years ago some did, but certainly not since it’s effectively become just another rung on the professional ladder.....
Many are so rich that the MP job is a hobby.,a sort of game for them.
Power not money is the driving force.

Viruses mutate at random. It's all a matter of chance where they crop up. It's not beyond the realms of possibility that covid originated elsewhere and was first picked up in China, afterall it was present in Spain in march 2019.

Saying China threw a virus at us is straight out of the trump popularist playbook... Only serves to shift blame/raise bad sentiment... Seriously, what good can come of it?

The truth is our food is so intensively reared we are always at risk of things jumping between different species, including us
