Given the behavior of his father, his 'man of the people' schtick is like a bad joke. Not only do they not have a clue about the lives of average people, but they don't really care.
I’m still fuming that they were able to brush the whole Cummings affair under the carpet to be honest. This is as poisonous and duplicitous a government as I’ve ever known. The lack of acknowledgement that this is the case from our resident Tory voters is pretty disappointing.
Gutted we’re leaving the Eu. Makes no sense to me.

Do you believe any Politician really has a clue about ordinary people or really cares. Perhaps 20 or 30 years ago some did, but certainly not since it’s effectively become just another rung on the professional ladder.....

They didn’t brush the Cummings affair under the carpet. Boris just chose to ignore it. The most duplicitous governments I‘ve ever known were under Heath and Blair. I personally cannot wait until we bring this year and the negotiations to an end......

Every time you leap to Johnson's defence it's 'well is he any different to...?'
Yes, plenty of politicians are ordinary people. Starmer's parents were Labour Party members with ordinary jobs. Diane Abbot grew up to Jamaican parents who were a nurse and welder. this carries on. In fact, one of the most celebrated left wingers and ordinary men would have been one of the most privileged in Tony Benn and he started many decades back
Johnson was born to money, just like so many in the Tory Party so it's crazy to try and suggest everyone's just the same because it just isn't true. the Tories know nothing about the majority of people and their living conditions in this country and care even less.

Agreed. There are a few MPs round my way who are renowned for being approachable and taking part in many community events. Mainly labour and LDs mind you.

I‘m sure Starmers parents and Abbott’s parents did understand the ordinary person, but neither of them do as they are too remote from people. It’s the same with every politician today unfortunately.....

I suspect most of us expect that from many politicians, but the USP of populists like Johnson are that they are not like the 'elite' that they claim screw over the average Joe, and because they're more like you and I, you can count on them to stand up for you. It's hard to believe people were taken in by it before, but it's even harder to believe they are now.

So instead of brushing it under the carpet he just let the turd lie on the living room floor for all to see? As a sort of conversation piece ‘ah yes I see you’re admiring my Cummings there. Careful not to gaze directly at his forehead’

What is this based on? Why re politicians today removed from the ordinary person when they haven't been before?
You have absolutely no basis for saying this or making a sweeping comment. It seems you are just trying to deflect from how it is the Tories who are quite clearly from much more privileged positions.

I don’t think so. I don’t approve of Boris because he understands the lives of people in our village. I approve of him because at least he has a sense of humour and is not violently tied to a single ideology. Most of them are miserable, single idea people who are as exciting as watching paint dry.....

I love the way you demand detail from me, accuse me of sweeping comment and deflection, immediately before giving no detail of your own, and deflecting by making sweeping comments about Tories.......
