There is no missing comma. You don't put a comma before 'and' because it is redundant.

There is a school of thought that there should be (the oxford comma) but that's for pretentious old windbags who like to be florid.

Judging by the way Joe writes, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say he hasn't got the first clue what an Oxford comma is, or indeed what the fuss was about. He's just been spoon fed a hullabaloo by the media and obediently follows along.

You've been watching the news too then Bruce it was a joke to my interpreter......

The problem is Trump has a fragile ego and this is a humiliation to him and his lobbying power. USA already held all the cards in the upcoming trade negotiations as they are huge compared to us, now they hold the cards and have an angry Trump who will want to punish us in the deal to save face and help him in the upcoming election...

That may well be the case, but I would guess that Boris has already cleared this withTrump. Plus it brings China into play. So we shall have to wait and see......

Please don`t encourage him, as he`s due to go into isolation soon as part of his therapy and I don`t want him getting worked up before he goes.

At this stage I don't think anybody fully understands the extent of the role Huawei will be given, but it's fair to say that in certain area's they are a lot more advanced than their US counterparts. I don't profess to know much about the technology involved, but I do understand that implementing a national 5G network is crucial to UK business going forward. The UK could lose valuable ground by employing sub standard technology, or by delaying implementation to give the US an opportunity to come up with a better product than they have at the moment. In the long term it could cost us greatly.

Ultimately, there is a lot of business to be had from the UK 5G industry in terms of infrastructure, hardware and software, and I'm sure that US companies will get more than their fair share. But there is more than a degree of protectionism, not to mention bullying, in their behaviour so far and I think Johnson has made the correct decision here.

Trump will have his nose put out of joint for certain, but I'm not sure how much effect this will have on the future trade negotiations. He was always going to play hardball anyway as people on here keep reminding us.

China is not quite as big a player as the US, but they are still investing in overseas countries where they see opportunity. Merseyside has for years tried to forge stronger links in the hope of procuring investment.

China and the US are in the middle of a trade stand-off and it's important we don't get involved. It was wrong for the US to try and hold us to ransom over the 5G contract. It is not the behaviour you expect of a supposed partner. But I agree with you in that Johnson had spoken to Trump prior to the announcement (which is only right and proper), otherwise I'm sure we would have seen some of averse tweet from him. He can't help himself.

A lot of Tories have also been speaking out against the decision I notice. Johnson has a lot of promises to live up to if he's to keep everyone happy, so it'll be interesting seeing how his term in office pans out.

Boris is doing OK. I wouldn’t have allowed Huawei into the 5G network, but they help build 3G and 4G and the spooks don’t seem too bothered. The Conservatives are currently polling at 49% with Labour at 29%, it’s early days and still in a honeymoon period, but he’s doing OK......
