Yep sounds about par for the course.
Horrible bunch of yellow Tories...
I think Lib Dems and SNP have both confirmed they wouldn't amend the bill thereby ensuring it would get through no matter what Labour do.I'm assuming that the Lib Dem ploy here is that a single line bill calling for an election is amendable (as opposed to the provisions of the FTPA), which means it can have all sorts of conditions baked in if there's the support for them.
Of course if it's a government bill that gets amended in a way they can't stomach then I think they can just pull it? Or, if it's already been moved at that point would they be stuck...
We shouldn't have another Election. We only just had one in 2017.Labour now have a choice. Vote for an election or vote against it again, with the LD/SNP and Tories forcing one anyway. Voting for an election at least let’s them say that they forced No Deal off the table, voting against will just make them look even weaker....

I just don't see the point in pushing for a 3rd general election in 4 years because the government didn’t like the results of the last two. People presumably knew what they were voting for in 2017 so let's not have another until 2022. The public voted for this... And I can't believe that they would want their will overturned in this way. It's democracy as @Joey66 would say.To be fair, the polls are giving the Tories the same kind of majority Cameron enjoyed in his final election, and a Tory majority would allow them to push through whatever kind of Brexit they wanted. Had the polls shown the public were ready to punish the Tories for three years of the worst government the country has ever seen I'd feel a whole lot more confident, but they don't.
so an MP isn't there to represent the wishes of his constituents ,just a random person ,who can tell you anything to get voted in then do what they want once there in parliament , even if its the exact opposite position to what got them electected. They are there to vote according to their personal views on a subject. Your MP is not your delegate in parliament who votes according to your wishes.
And if you don't like their conduct in office then you can contribute towards voting them out next time. Because that's how a democratic process actually works.
To be frank, it would be pretty helpful if Leavers (in general, not specifically you) understood how this stuff worked before posting.

I don't think another election is going to change anything. Theresa May's last election is testimony to that. What we need is another Referendum to understand the travel of direction of Brexit.
Try reading it, you might find out.I saw a headline to an article, which I didn’t read, but the headline was about how the writer was losing friends over Brexit.
Now I’ve no idea if these ‘friends’ were real friends or social media friends, but I find it difficult to understand why anyone would lose a friend who held a differing opinion. If we can put up with RS friends, why would having a different political opinion make a difference. Any views ?......

This. They'll win a few more seats and thats all they need. 5 years of Johnson will be a awful for this country. He's pretty much failed at everything else.
