PM questions should be decent today
Yes. I was having a conversation about PMQs with a friend and we were discussing the Corbyn/Swimson vs Johnson dynamic.

I find it slightly troubling, given the length of time he's been in post, that I cannot recall a point in Johnson's premiership where I've thought that the Labour party, nor any other opposition party for that matter, has had any slogan/mantra which will resonate in the consciousness of the public.

There are plenty of things to play upon about his credentials and credibility but nothing has broken through as a 'hook' that can be repeated by the masses. 'Brexit means Brexit' and now 'get Brexit done' are those completely devoid of any substance lines that can be parroted by the public and politicians alike...Remain haven't got one yet.

Tbh it will be the same rehash as per. If Labour had a leader that the lib dems would get behind then we could see some fireworks, as honestly the government should be replaced with a temporary one.

That temporary government should get Johnson's deal through the house, (however long it takes to get something that is agreeable to most) and then put it back for the people to decide which avenue they want to go down. If that doesn't happen and we get a GE instead, you will have either a flaky rainbow coalition or a very small Tory majority. We could then be in a state of perpetuity where a few MPs cross lines because they don't like x/y and z leaving the government without a majority...again.

I don't even want to think about it but i think he will get a majority , Scotland might cost him a few seats but in England he will do well, the press have been focused on him and the Tories for ages it hasn't stopped them leading in the polls and at this point actually going further ahead( don't ask me why baffles me) once the gloves are off the press will be all over labour/Libs ect, he will just pull his clown act , coupled with its him against parliament/EU , unfortunately he might pull it off.
hopefully he will balls it up along the way .

You ignore the Election Purdah period, the gloves do come off, but they come off for the Tories in this period. And he is balling up already agmonst others (Oborne and Preston articles today), there is no Brexit Party Tory Party marriage, Farage and party are full on teeth gnashing mode for Johnson...

I was having a discussion with somebody last night who is an avid brexiteer, in his reckoning the tories are set to win around 360 seats and that labour and the lib dems will tear each other apart, he totally dismissed the effect Farage could have on Boris if he goes on the attack over his surrender deal.

"The Prime Minister cant be trusted", "Boris Johnson is a Liar".

I think they've been established and have been effective. Is there anyone in the country who doesn't accept that accusation as true?

I think they'll lose almost all their seats in Scotland. That'll mean they'll have to win around 24 seats elsewhere just to stand still. Without a BP pact they will struggle to win a majority and if they do it will only be by a few which could leave them in roughly the same place as now, as remember they had a majority with the DUP until they started walking/getting expelled.
