I've noticed that whenever I make a valid point it is either ignored, muddied or ridiculed. I can't see any reason to continue debating the issue. Makes no odds anyway as none of what we think or say makes any difference. Maybe we Leavers should march on London too. Just think of the boost in sales of wheelchairs, mobility scooters and Zimmer frames.
Who would carry the coffins ?

I didn't dismiss them, I said that i haven't seen where they 'suggest Brexit is a positive thing and that they prefer it to happen'. Genuinely interested to see it...feel free to link it.

I originally challenged your 'fishing industry' comment and countered with the computer games industry as a growing industry in the UK - which you have completely dismissed.

What is the contribution of the gaming industry in the UK vs the fishing industry in the UK?

It might surprise Pete to know that the gaming industry is several times bigger than the fishing industry, so he might wish not to scoff at its seeming lack of importance.

....not in the least. The core values are nothing if they become unelectable. They don’t need a pact with Murdoch, they need to be clever and look for ways of attracting voters who haven’t been voting Labour. It’s the strategic decisions. Corbyn appeals to Momentum but not to the country or even traditional Labour voters.

This Government is a mess yet could very well get 5 more years. That says a lot everything about this Labour. Rather than blame the press and everything else, the Labour Party has to look at itself because they are letting so many of us down.

By the way, I will still vote Labour at the next GE, but sadly I don’t think enough will.
Eggs, with respect, the bulk of the mainstream print media are owned by billionaires, who are sympathetic to the Tory party..I don't expect them to have a fair and balanced view of the Labour party in any shape whatsoever. However, the advent of the web has opened up alternative avenues and news sources where it is not a continual Labour -bashing Tory praising fest, and more people are using these as their information about various issues.....the brexit fiasco has unfortunately created divisions between folk in this nation and the blame for that lays firmly at the feet of Cameron who panicked faced by an unelectable Farage. And again with respect Corbyn does appeal to "traditional Labour voters" who left the party in droves after Blairs continuance of failed neo liberal ideology. I may well agree with you about the result of the next GE; if johnson and his ilk have another 5 years I fear the consequences will be catastrophic. This all could have been avoided.

The PM saying if this doesn't happen then he will have a general election. Only 3 ways that will happen:

- losing two votes of no confidence

- Parliament voting for it - 2/3 of MPs needed

- Bill through both Houses of Parliament

So, it's that annoying Parliamentary Sovereignty again...

If he extends til the end of January he gets the election vote through no problem.

I don't think Labour are bluffing on that - their position at the moment makes complete sense in regards to stopping 'no deal'.

...I absolutely understand that, but Labour needs to deal with it and not light the fires they are looking for.

Two local Labour MPs have been forced to leave the party in recent months. That was not the fault of the media. Indeed a Labour Shadow Minister (yes, a Labour Shadow Minister) was on National TV (BBC) this afternoon saying the bullying and harassment of Dame Louise Ellman by members of the Labour Party was shameful. She went on to say that when the Party is in a fit state for Ellman to return will be a day of celebration.
