And my understanding is that the amount collected by a member state goes towards their annual contribution. Or sommet like that, but its been a while since I was closer to that line of work.

The blame has shifted to those that are stopping a deal and actually making no deal more likely. I don’t claim to understand the way things work but in my humble opinion I think you’re view is slightly skewed. The Eu haven’t budged, it’s boris who has made concessions, he hasn’t made the eu open up to discussion at all, he’s backed down and has tried to sell it to the gullible once again.

I find that hard to believe. Surely with all that insight and experience you cannot really believe that a relatively unimportant nation like the UK can stand all alone. (even with the help of WTO)
