Well I was replying to Joey mate, who to be fair, often boils his points down to a "You lost, get over it" level of debate.
No democrocy won we just need a deal from the Ezu and we trade worldwide attracting new businesses
Deal in principle would need to be agreed tonight, if Boris is going to be able to put it to a vote in HoC
20 of them voted against no deal so let's lose 5 then you have the ERG who will vote for the deal, then if the DUP are on board, plus about 5 Labour MPs Frank Field an independent a cert it will just get through .....if the is a deal that is......

Blimey.

Just no words.

A customs border in the Irish Sea.

Even May rejected that.

Now, I for one dont mind seeing the first substantial steps toward a united Ireland being put in place, but surely our resident "United Kingdom" fanatics on here cant possibly counternence that?

Lol.

This clown Johnson masquerading as a 'unionist'. The DUP are utter serfs if they go for that.
They've been telling us for the last 2 years on here that the backstop would be ditched and the EU would withdraw it's backing for the Irish government's position when push came to shove.

Today it seems that the person who was 'elected' on a promise to kick ass with the EU, has backed down and accepted the backstop (albeit with a slight change in it's wording) because the penny has finally dropped that EU weren't going to abandon their position. Some of us have been telling them this for 2 years but they wouldn't listen.

It was always all about saving his own skin for Johnson. This is about trying to get the Tory party re-elected with him at the helm and nothing else. The pursuit of power trumps everything for them. Carson's words a century ago are as true today as they were then.

Why do you think the deal will be better than May's Deal Joe?

This is much, much worse than the backstop was though (for unionists).

The backstop at least was in effect time limited (the trade deal would have superceded it) and applied to the whole of the UK; this on the other hand will be permanent and it is really difficult to come up with any reason to think why this wouldn't lead to some form of reunification within a decade or so - this can only ever be seen as the betrayal it so blatantly is, the UK is likely to end up as an economic basket case whilst NI is spared the worst of it, there is no way a trade deal will ever undo this and worst of all thousands of people will be reminded of (and get used to) this daily every time they travel between the UK and NI.

If Corbyn had said this was an option for Labour at any point after 2016, someone would have shot at him.
