Josep Borrell, who is nominated to be the European Union's next chief diplomat, has stated that 'The EU must have more troops and be prepared to use them across the globe' (my brackets - who are the EU going to invade then?) He called for numbers of EU troops that could be deployed to be raised to at least 55,000 to 60,000. 'We should pool our national sovereignties together to multiply the power of individual member states. I am convinced that if we don't act together Europe will become irrelevant.' Sounds like proposals for an EU army to me.
I’m all for an eu army if it stops us invading other countries illegally. Big fan

As I said, I read what the Government sent out. In those days there was no such thing as Leavers and Remainers, we took the Government's information at face value. Of course we were a lot wiser at the last referendum and saw through the Governments propaganda circular.

So you were misinformed before, and as you still don't seem to know what the EU is, you're just as misinformed today.

Well what you described is pretty much how NATO (largely European nations) acts in defense of it's members. We already standardise munitions and, to a degree, hardware with other members
I think NATO is great, it has kept the peace (in the context of world wars) since the second world war. There is no need for a European army. However, those EU member states who don't pay their full whack to NATO (including Germany) may find that their defence contributions increase significantly.

And I am convinced that the vast majority of Remain voters didn’t have a clue other than to keep the status quo....
Which is very much more an honest starting point than any leave voter I've ever encountered. Only ever heard leave for NHS improvements and to control immigration- which were both horse apple reasons based on lies.

Joey surely you'd admit the ugly bit was the rude and aggressive way Farage shouted back in response?

By the way be honest - do you now know more about Brexit than you did 3.5 years ago? Yes or No.

So there's nothing ugly posted on here by Brexiters or Remainers - that's my point - this thread has set Blues on Blues it got stopped completely once when it was less acrimonious - again on that clip it depends on what side you are ob remain or Brexit to take a viewpoint.....on the film footage ....

Bruce, you don't see it, do you? That is exactly my point, I don't know what the EU is, or where it is going. And I guess you don't either. All decisions taken behind closed doors.

But they're not. I shared with you the Treaty of Rome, which clearly outlines the aims and objectives of the EU from its very beginning. What other policy do you disagree with that has been conducted behind closed doors?

Is that it? One man's ideas? Long way to go to a firm EU proposal? And what about the UK veto? You've only to look at something as huge as the introduction of the Euro. The UK opted out.

Tell me why is Nato better than the EU? Do you really trust Trump and the US at the moment? I personally am a lot more comfortable associating with Europeam nations than I am Trumps America.
