Can save you the wait - she doesn't. She'd go into a coalition with the Tories tomorrow if she could get a second referendum attached to a Brexit deal. That's her only red line - she'd agree to any Tory policy 100% of the time as long as it gave her a position of power.

She's a disgrace to centrist politics and it's a massive shame the Lib Dems put her in as leader, but it was due to shallow pool of talent in her party.

She's one of the more vocal opponents of a no deal brexit - Boris has no intention of getting a deal as his backers are banking on crashing out without one.

So how far is she willing to go to stop him? She either stays true to her word and does everything in her power (which may include Corbyn as temp PM as a last option) or does she show her party and supporters who she really is by refusing and letting Boris carry on

And foreign voices at shops. Let’s not forget

Can't go 200 yards here without coming across a sign saying Polski Sklep. We've been stealth invaded, I tell you! What did our brave boys, such as the heroic pilots of no. 303 squadron, win the war single-handedly for anyway? These stores should be left as they otherwise would be, boarded up shopfronts!

roydo, why don't remainers just stop, take a breath, forget about insulting leavers and ask themselves one, simple, question. Why are the London liberal elite so keen to stay in the EU? Vested interests by the wealthy, mainly. I find it unbelievable that anyone in the north (particularly Liverpool - not you roydo, but a lot on here) is in favour of remain. The elite in London don't give a toss about anyone outside the M25.
Probably the most misguided post I've read on the subject, and ive read all of joeys stuff

"Misguided" is not really the right word there; after all Methuselah has been quite expertly guided in that post - comprised as it is of him repeating a load of things that people like him are told repeatedly.

Lots of chatter about the opposition finally coming to its senses and backing a vote of no-confidence to secure the extension (which of course can only mean Corbyn as a nominal interim PM).

From: https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/sep/28/boris-johnson-no-deal-brexit-no-confidence-vote-snp

'Following talks between opposition party leaders at Westminster, Stewart Hosie said the move appeared to be the only way of ensuring Johnson did not push through a no-deal Brexit on 31 October.

“We have to do that because there is now no confidence that the prime minister will obey the law and seek the extension that parliament voted for only a few weeks ago,” he told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme.

“If we are serious about the extension, that is the only game in town.”

Hosie, a former SNP deputy leader, said the aim was to stop a no-deal Brexit, and that all opposition parties and Tory rebels needed to be united.

The SNP MP urged the Liberal Democrat leader, Jo Swinson, to get behind the move, which could lead to Jeremy Corbyn being installed in No 10. Swinson has previously said she would not put Corbyn in Downing Street, even for short period.

“If another name came forward that was acceptable to everybody – a Ken Clarke or Dominic Grieve-type figure – then self-evidently that would be a good thing to do,” Hosie said. "But it is also self-evidently the case that the second-largest party [Labour] should have the first chance to form that administration."

“If Jo Swinson and the Lib Dems are actually serious about stopping Brexit then they need to stop playing political games [and] get on board with everybody else.”'

Time for the adults among the Lib Dems to announce that playtime is over (...though if the Revoke Article 50 charade is anything to go by, there may not be many adults left).

Still, surely even Swinson must recognise that a position of 'We are the Party that would do anything to stop Brexit *except obey constitutional procedure on a no-confidence vote*' is not sustainable.

Sad that so many of them can't see that they're just the opposing wing of the Eurosceptic loons ; )
