Cox is what he is: an actor. That's what he does outside parliament - stage productions for the local amateur dramatics society.

He's just applying that BS ham acting to his day job, and the loonies behind him are lapping it up more out of desperation than anything else.

He absolutely destroyed the imbeciles on the Labour benches. It was left to ex Tories and the SNP to ask him sensible and probing questions......

If Boris would just pop over to Brussels and get us this magic great deal, then it could all be solved and I'm sure Parliament would vote it through.

Let me repeat once more. It doesn’t matter what Deal Boris gets, Corbyn will vote against it. He doesn’t want a deal, he wants just to be PM, but won’t allow a GE because he knows he would lose...Cox was spot on, this Parliament is dead.....

You are not listening to him. His legal advice was sound. The English Courts agreed with him, the Scottish lower court’s agreed with him. If the SC had decided to introduce a new principle it would have remained lawful just as earlier prorogations were. As he said, if the Law as it now stands after yesterday’s ruling had been around when Major and before him earlier Labour governments prorogued parliament, they too may have been judged unlawful by the SC. He cannot publish advice and even Grieve agrees with him because it would curtail or diminish future advice if it was going to be published. You may not agree with this but that is how it works. I’m just amazed that some Remainers are actually allowed to vote when they cannot understand what is being explained.......

I may be wrong Pete but my reading of the conclusions were that 3 separate paragraphs stated that previous regular prorogation would have been fine.

Rather than focussing on the Labour front benches, he might be best to answer clearly the question as to whether he will allow the DV acts to go through, or whether they will have to start the process again. I have no idea why he is linking this to whether Labour vote for an election.

No mate. It was just a bit of bluster from a well known BS artist. He either blows his top or starts crying in public like the nanny-coddled man-child he is. He's an irrelevancy...worse, a joke.

Now he's stamped his feet the adults will take over and Johnson and the rest of the criminals who misled parliament and the people will have to cough up some revealing papers on how they set out to lie to the country, and they'll be under more pressure than ever to reveal the plan for a catastrophic no deal Brexit.

There's no solace in these events for you. None.

To be fair to Cox, the achilles heel for Labour is the lack of support for an election. It's bizarre. I know tis will sound odd, but the reason why the centre of the party don't want an election is because they will win and Corbyn will get in. That's the nightmarish vision for most of them. Unfortunately Corbyn doesn't really grasp the nettle very often and does look a bit foolish.

I have been saying for 12 months or so, there ought to be an election, firstly it was the tories who stupidly declined that option, now it's Labour. Partisanship aside, there needs to be an election.

In all honesty, when this has all settled down, prima Dona's like Cox will greatly regret their interventions. History will not remember them fondly.

The WA was pretty close 3rd time round and that was described as the worst possible deal. Do you not think that with the amazing deal that Johnson will get will appease moderates across the house. The Tory party 'rebels' voted with their conscience, why wouldn't others do that with a 'great Deal'

Surely you and Boris, after repeatedly voting down May's deal in order to position himself as PM, must think there is some merit in this approach?

There is no solace for anyone. We are all losing and we have a Parliament not fit for purpose. It’s not even a matter of Brexit anymore, we have a Parliament that ignored its own manifesto’s, were voted in on a lie to deliver Brexit, refused 3 times to ratify an agreement, failed miserably to agree one of its own and refuses to either have a vote of no confidence in a Government who you would believe has lied to the Queen, or have a General Election. As Cox quite rightly said, it is dead....

Because any deal will take us out of the Eu. Two thirds of MP’s don’t want to leave, so how can any deal get through.......

Exactly. Let the people decide who they want to represent them, now that they fully understand the way their MP thinks. Make manifestos legal documents, and get a Government that does what they told people they would do.....we need an election.....

Parliament is all we have between us and chaos. Despite Johnson's best attempts to sideline it, democracy still holds sway in this country, free from the neo-fascist forces that he is drawing close to him.

Pete, this is more than Brexit now; more than Labour Versus Tories. It's about democracy and the rule of law.

You are on the wrong side of the argument and debate. You need to reassess where you are on this and oppose where Johnson is taking this country. This is a deadly serious business now.

It was a difference of 56 at the final WA vote. Doesn't seem like 2/3's...

And that was a terrible deal. Surely people will get behind the 'Great Deal' that Boris will be bringing... whenever he is planning on bringing it.

The country needs a leader, Boris can do it, May couldn’t and even Labour MP’s know that Corbyn is clueless. They’ve wasted 3 years, over a thousand days, but are congratulating themselves for getting another half dozen.......

I totally agree. So let’s have a General Election and let the people decide who and how we want the country run......
