I am astonished. I thought they'd duck it; they've done anything but.

MASSIVE credit to them.
O'Neill went for theatre. He didn't need to be forensic when he had Pannick with him. I thought Eadie, as always, was very good; Keen was poor in my opinion and the questioning of the panel reflected that. I think it's 50-50, although there detail in questioning of remedies would cause me a lot of worry if I were the Government.

I could reasonably see a declaration that the prorogation is unlawful but with no order being made. That would rule of the legal aspect, but remove the suggestion that it was politically motivated, and ultimately leave the remaining action to be resolved by Parliament and Government.
I was very wrong. They have taken a very dim view of the Government. Hard to disagree with anything there, they've looked to protect a challenge to Parliamentary democracy.

I’m pleased tbh. It also means that no future government of whatever colour can attempt the same stunt and that our Supreme Court is now what it says on the tin.......
I think it's absolutely the right decision. I have a greater interest in the law than I do Brexit and it would have been a shame if short termism would have dominated this decision. It hasn't and it wasn't even a consideration looking at this judgement.
