What a ridiculous day for politcs yet again.

Leadshom leaves race giving may the leadership? Smells like a set up to me. Over a simple comment she made as well 'becaue i am a mother'. What is wrong with that? I would argue that a parent would be in theory a better person to lead the people, so what if her rival has/couldn't no kids? It is meant to be cut throat politics, not be nice to each other.

Also Eagle going against Corbyn now. Saying he cannot win an election etc. Of course he can't! Because you keep undermining him and turning on him every step of the way! Makes me laugh, it really does. Stab him in the back one by one and then claim he has no stance in the party. A joke really.

20 Tory mps if Leadsom won through the membership were not going to pass anything for Leadsom hence then no Tory majority that could well be the main reason also she would end up like Corbyn a leader backed by the membership only- Leadsom would the just face rebellion pity Corbyn cannot see this for unity?

That quote from Leadshom,'because I am a mother'.
Could you imagine the uproar if that line had been said by someone using it a reason she should not stand. Jeez, the accusations regarding sexual degradation would be heard for ever. The culprit would beforced from office and lose all credibility from that day forth.

how is that sexual degregation? they are both women!

Sometimes politics should be cit throat and nasty between people because they are trying to convince the people they are the ebst candidate. Sometimes it would be nice to not be treated like mugs and get to see that in public more. May is now our prime minister but has she got back bone? Brave to make big decisions? ruthless? Scary? No idea to all! But if you are going to be a leader who is repsected you need all them.

and not one person into british politics is like that.

My apologies Ashtonian, I don't think I put that across very well.
My meaning was supposed to be, that should that phrase have been used by another person, not necessarily her rival, but more of a chief whip or the likes, as a reason she should not and must not challenge for leadership, then the person saying would be quite rightly castigated.

Polls carried out by Farmers Weekly have consistently shown strong farmer support for the “leave” campaign. In April, an exclusive Farmers Weekly poll of 577 farmers found 58% said they wanted to leave, while just 31% said they wanted the UK to remain in the trade bloc.

Delighted Derbyshire farmer Michael Seals of the Farmers for Britain campaign, which lobbied for the UK to leave the EU, said: “The country has voted for change – and the farming industry has clearly indicated it wants change.

“We must now all work together, government and industry representatives, to start with a blank sheet of paper to find a new and better way of supporting this industry to enable it to go forward.”

The Country Land & Business Association (CLA), which represents 33,000 landowners in England and Wales, said a Brexit would “bring challenges, but also significant opportunities”.
Well you can only go by who you speak to, and in the north, I know of no farmers who wanted to leave

‘Seismic implications’

Will Gemmill, head of farming at Strutt & Parker, said the vote to leave would have “seismic implications” for UK agriculture and questions remained about the impact on farm profitability.

“If the value of sterling drops, then in the short term we could see improvements in our competitive position which will help exports and push up prices.

“However, over the medium term there are crucial questions about the level of support UK farmers will be paid and on the terms of any trade deals struck with the EU and the rest of the world.”

But former NFU president Peter Kendall, a leading farming voice in the Remain camp, said the result was “hugely disappointing” for the future of the UK.

He added: “We live in a democratic country. The task now is to knuckle down as an industry and work hard to persuade the government of the importance of the farming industry in order to renegotiate agricultural policy to create as many opportunities as possible.”

Brexit ‘seriously bad news’

Former NFU chief economist Sean Rickard warned that a Brexit was “seriously bad news” for British farmers.

“If there’s one group that has really gained from Europe, it’s farmers,” said Dr Rickard, an independent economist to the farming and food industries.

“I don’t think much will change over the next two years, but there will be a great deal of change after that, negotiating the terms of leaving the EU.

“You might be looking at 10 years of uncertainty for UK agriculture and its food producers. The big danger is that some food producers will relocate a lot of their activities to countries like Ireland or Denmark to stay in the single market.

“Uncertainty is the enemy of all investment. All this might make us less competitive.”

Fact is twist it the other way or two. Two male candidates and one says I am a father so I know best! Or in the case of Labour Ms Eagle is a gay and JC is almost straight but likes his affairs. So which is right????
