I will have a stab, based on my opinion that sommet in the wider context will be agreed.

The UK and the EU, agree, "in recognition of the deep and mutual benefits to all" that the supply line is maintained. And a free trade agreement is polished off in double quick time.

But freedom of movement is a scab that the loons wont accept. So goods can cross north and south, but an agreement is made that the EU will accept that the UK will be able to reserve the right to validate civilian, non trade crossings from the ROI to NI. And the EU can do vice versa.

Which neither will basically ever do.

yes, any wording whatsoever that border checks may take place will be very bad. Yes I get that the U.K. could legally set up a checkpoint any time they wished but a public reinstatement of this is not ideal.

The GFA gave us no visible signs of a border and a path to a future. It dampened stuff down, the wording soothed both tribes.

Any reassertion of checks, regardless of whether they are completed or not, is a flame in the forest for those that would seek to attack it.

We simply have to remain in the Single and Customs market.

I won't dismiss what you are saying as regarding the pound as it is one factor that will go into it. From what I understand you have lots of parts flying back and forth when building these cars, each would be slapped with WTO tariffs, so instantly the car is more expensive to build. Then shipping it out once finished immediately gets another % slapped on it. It just doesn't make sense unless you sell more in that countries market than you export elsewhere.

I do admire your positivity on the subject but for an action there is a reaction and we are the smallest piece with most to lose as the EU economy joined together dwarfs ours.

I can answer that one. Because it isn't brexit. If freedom of movement is still included they won't go for it.

And saying that as a remainer why should we go for it? To come out and not have a say but still be connected would be next to useless. The worst all round.

They just need to scrap Brexit.
