Thing is for Johnson, he can say that he did all that he could to force through Brexit if he’s stopped. It’s no lose as far as his popularity amongst the Brexit masses is concerned. If he’s thwarted he’ll blame it on the undemocratic left and Tory liberals. Pushing the tories further right. Dangerous times ahead no matter how this plays out.
this is true, have been saying for ages he would pull this one, he is on a winner whichever way it plays out, I can't stand the man but he is one conniving b ugger and shouldn't be underestimated .

Before pete and joey start spouting Churchill at us, it should be pointed out that the last time there was a crisis on this scale and a change of government - 1940 - Parliament was not prorogued even though the building was actually bombed.

The last was to honour the vote of the referendum outcome......

One post you are stating that Labour should be accountable for their failed manifesto commitments, and then want to totally ignore all the remainers in the referendum result. I'm fine with your emotional need of leaving the EU, however, apply those same emotional standards that you have for yourself to others, otherwise it's not a good persona.

75 percent of the government are remainers who cannot accept democracy.....

Or they with far more information than we have to go on can see that it is more damaging than even they realised. If your loved ones were driving on the motorway because they voted that was the best way to go, but all information available to you pointed that they would crash if they stayed on that course, then you would probably overrule democracy and insist on a course correction. It isn't that much dissimilar if you think about it.

MP's will vote for a soft type brexit as long as there doesn't have the entrapment clause in it, but that likely won't appease the brexiteers and whatever way you go there will be serious implications for our union with the Scotland and NI issues. You may call that project fear but that is just plain old logic.

What this current chapter of the Great Brexit Fiasco proves beyond all doubt is that thus country needs a written constitution.

As this stunt from the Johnson junta shows, our unwritten constitution is not worth the paper it ain’t written on when some sort of megalomaniacal dipstick gets the keys to Downing Street and interprets and manipulates it to suit any crackpot policy he or she sees fit.

A dangerous precedent will be set here if Johnson gets away with it.

And who knows how this will be abused by a future Prime Minister whom is even more of a demagogue than Johnson is.

They also preserve self interest...

To quote his partner ‘You just don't care for anything because you're spoilt. You have no care for money or anything.’
He’s a horrible self centred individual. He has flip flopped his way into power, depending on the political mood. He has absolutely no principles. It’s a disgusting state of affairs

Boris is way ahead of him he's doing a queens speech before Corbyn s coup can happen suspending parliament on the 10th of September so that's them stuffed :D

No you plumb, it was a reminder to those who dismissed Corbyn and started playing party politics with vonc. They empowered Johnson purely because political vanity... Humble pie coming for these remainers who use it as a vehicle.

So if I, as a remain voter, am called undemocratic for wanting to stay in the EU, the same must be said for those who want to simply shut down Parliament so they get the answer that they want.

Can they not see that stopping a no-deal Brexit is not the same as stopping Brexit?

If brexit must go ahead, fine, but we must prevent the massive act of national self harm that is a no deal.
