Just tell me what was the result of the referendum on the EU in 2016 the largest turn out for decades on lost by 1.3 million did you not?
As a matter of interest, can you deal with the points I raised about Johnson, @Joey66? His voting for the deal he hates, his changes of mind over Brexit, his frankly pathetic reputation throughout the world and his lies to the readership of the paper he served and to the opposition leader of the time? Forget the deflection, just talk about what was written in response to your email about Johnson. Thank you.

Explain why you cannot accept the democratic vote in the referendum first...... much more important as we are not a Banana republic ......

It wasnt democratic for one. How could it be? No one knew what they were voting for. They might well have thought they did, and many probably still do. But they didnt.

roydo, I don't believe you just posted that. 'It wasn't democratic' is the most worn, mealy-mouthed spin put out by remoaners. The referendum wording was about being 'in' or 'out' of the EU. The people who voted 'out' knew what they were voting for in the context of the referendum. They wanted out of the EU. How supremely arrogant of you to state 'that they didn't'.

1) The referendum was advisory, not legally binding. I can accept the result and then still support Parliament not enacting it
2) There were shady practises going across the Leave campaigns
3) 'Leave' is a vague ideal, not an actual policy or process. There are varieties of Soft Brexit I could support, but they all retain the benefits of EU membership and have never been put forward by government. As various flavours of government try to shift the debate ever Harder and No Dealier, is it any surprise that Remainers prepared to compromise on what was voted for by not even a majority of the electorate, let alone the population, have become harder in their stance that just sacking the whole thing off is probably for the best?

so a held election in the UK with a simple REMain or LEAVE question voted for by 8-1 in the HOC was not democratic...... with a pre election debates all over the media = utter rubbish.....
I and the rest who voted OUT knew what they were voting for as those who chose to vote REMAIN, and lost = sore losers.......

In Bold over 500 MPs voted article 50 making it the law of the land as it stands now....... the HOC always stated they would honor the vote........

They were not told what the final outcome would be, or even what the government would aim for.

Let's run a little thought experiment. Let's say it's 2016 again and the referendum is tomorrow. Unofficially, the Tories have been talking with the EU for a year since the GE and have a rough roadmap of how Leaving would actually work, and it's shockingly similar to the WA. No ifs, no buts, the 'Out' option on the ballot paper has it in black & white - £39b payment, Irish backstop and all, up against a simple 'Remain with no changes'.

Reckon that version of Leave gets 52% of the vote? Would any of the resident Leavers have gone for it?
