My mum was in the same batch but can now retire and still has chosen not to and perhaps because a lot of over 60's stayed in work they decided it was a reasonable time to do so.

My wife was robbed of 6 years old age pension by Gideon - you can do nothing about it tory sods........
they sent a letter out to pay to top up her full pension when reaching 60 years old it was about £500 12 months later he changed the retiring age ..... he needs shooting with cow manure ok....... yet he promotes remain........

Well at the risk of going off topic, the whole saga around the state pension was 2 fold.
1. To raise the normal retirement date for everyone. (We all live longer anyrate, plus the cost)
and,
2. To equalise the retirement age for boys and girls. Equality and all that.
It was all started about 20 years ago.
As ever, laudable ambition, some unintended consequences.
It will not be project fear bad but a bumpy ride - yet the deal will eventually be achieved...
The waspy women will disagree with you.....
The goods will be more xpensive on both sides then commonsense will prevail.a deal will be done...

In fairness Joe, thats hypothetical. You seem fine saying a hypothetical deal will be done, but not so fine answering a hypothetical question about your meds and pension being affected.
