To be frank chaps, i'm not sure it's consistent with the rules to discuss individuals like this, but i will submit the following, for what it's worth:

When he has committed to specifics he's had his pants pulled down on here more times than i care to remember. When he's not plagiarising lead attack lines from the right wing press he's either deflecting or stirring and hasn't stopped windmilling since Johnson became pm.

I have no problem, personally, with someone who wishes to justify what Johnson's government is doing nor why they want brexit, but continually reading his immature, essentially tribal posts on both subjects is becoming increasingly tiresome and pointless. Therefore, i'm going to work out how to utilise the ignore function and apply it.

Edit:
Done.

I take your point.

I agree with what you are saying here. But putting him on ignore is the equivalent of not standing up for what you believe in. And also what the point of a forum is.

I pretty much disagree with everything @peteblue has to say. But I will continue to read what he says and continue to argue against it if I disagree.

When anyone posts offensive, incorrect or ill informed things on here I will try to fight against it. The same way I would expect anyone else to do the same with regards to me if I do the same.

I will not sit here and see people posting rubbish that is easily refuted without saying something. Putting them on ignore just skirts the situation. On a grander scale this is why the country is in the state it is. Because people sit by and let stuff happen (I’m not accusing you of this by the way).

We find ourselves in a situation with a racist, bigoted, misogynist, buffoon of a “Prime Minister”. If we just ignore the people that support him then things will only get worse. We have to keep questioning and pushing him for real answers, real solutions and not just bluster and jingoism.

Spot on post. There may be a point to blocking out a clear WUM, but Pete is not one and at the end of the day it is probably better to listen and discuss differing viewpoints to try and learn why people think like they do than to be in an echo chamber.

Although I can sympathise with the frustration when nothing concrete comes back from questions asked. We are all different and entitled to feel the way we feel without being castigated for it as long as the viewpoints are not illegal or being a danger. If inaccuracies are pointed out like you say hopefully everyone learns something while on here.

And for once I totally agree. Within the Current Affairs threads there will obviously be major disagreements as party politics collides with real world events and strategies. It’s about debate, not closing your eyes and ears to another’s point of view or just joining a thread where everyone agrees with everyone else. Anyone on here who wants to use ‘ignore’ quite frankly have lost the plot and should instead post in a more snowflake friendly part of the site....

Just as the far right in Germany blamed the Treaty of Versaille for all their ills, the far right in this country blame the EU. Add in the blame game of the hostility environment towards foreigners and those who are disabled, vulnerable, poor - working and not -, and ethnic minorities. We have been governed by a government that has displayed all the hallmarks of fascistic aggressive attitudes and policies against the mass of the populus since 2010.. In the 1930's sections of the German establishment thought Hitler would save them with his 1000 year Reich populism . In the UK sections of the establishment think Johnson's New Golden Age populism will save them.

Germany, fascists, Hitler, populism......that’s some imagination you have. Do you also have any preferred solutions to today’s politics other than Remain, Corbyn, and debt.......

Yes and no except @peteblue never gives any facts or substance to his arguments so it does come across like a WUM at times.

You just can't stop yourself can you. You made your point, there is no need to resort to telling folk that they they have lost the plot or that they should associate themselves with snowflakes, which is a derogatory term in itself.

As I said I can understand the frustration but WUM's are deliberately taking a contrary view just to get a reaction, Pete just feels that way because he is a deep rooted Tory. Seen many people do the same regarding Corbyn, where it is all he will change everything and fix the country, whilst ignoring the how. Partisan politics has always been the norm but you have to be able to pull people up if they are blatantly lying or misleading.
