I tell you something about the States......it is very different to England.

I lived there for ten years, go over for a visit every couple of years and I love the country and the people in general.

But if it wasn’t for the fact English is the language over there, the United Stes of America would feel much more foreign to us that France or Germany or Denmark etc.
I’ll tell you something about England ..... it’s part of the UK.
It’s this constant dismissal of the rest of the uk which strengthens their claims for independence.

Mate he's the thin end of the wedge. Johnson wrote 2 speeches and then waited to see which way the wind was blowing. Next thing he's holding up kippers to highlight bad EU rules that are hitting our businesses even though it turns out the laws he was quoting only affect fresh fish. But never mind coz he waved a union jack and came over all Churchill so let's forget that he's a lying, cheating, racist homophobe. None of that should detract from what a smashing chap he is
I'm just glad we now have a PM who won't go into EU negotiations half-heartedly.

And some of us absolutely love the fact it is mate. Spoken as an "English" man, who is like most of us, is made up from a right recipe of Welsh, Irish, and weirdly, Nordic.

I’ve said this many times previously, I want an independent U.K.. However if for some yet unexplained reason we really had to belong to some massive political union I would rather it was with the USA than the EU.....
I'm not so sure myself, unless we were to suddenly discover vast oil fields that would, of course, belong to America.

And out of interest, what would be the 3 main benefits above membership of the EU?

How will he go in?
Like he went into the foreign office, such that his colleagues have never seen ineptitude like it?
Like he went into negotiating on behalf of that woman locked up abroad, whose family blame him for her plight?
If he can get a great deal I'll hold my hands up. If not, he's castigated Theresa may for nothing. If he take us out with no deal he's consigned at least a generation to economic catastrophe

He has been widely reported as being wholly unprepared for negotiations during his time as foreign secretary. How exactly are you defining half-heartedly if not being arsed to swot up on your primary job doesn't qualify?

His brief, self imposed, is to leave the EU, "come what may", by Oct 31st. To the fully paid up unicorn hunters, THAT is all that matters.

Like the rest of us, who have skin in the game, I really dont know, still, what that will actually entail.

@nsno-chris has posted a few more positive stuff recently, (thats relative to the chaos mind), so would be interested in his take on things.
