"...That was kind of my point..." No it wasn't! Not for one second. Who do you think you are kidding??? You totally balls'd up you point. Admit it, for the first time in your life...

I do believe the French call what you have done 'volte-face'...

You really are hilarious! Obviously don't know the military advice of 'Never reinforce failure'.
Volte-face originally came from the Italian voltafaccia - to turn face. I always abhor national stereotypes but - - -

The Scunthorpe type questions need to be addressed, not because of Brexit but because older type manufacturing needs to be reviewed. I personally believe steelworks to be a national asset and should be protected anyway, but it doesn’t matter what other industry we talk about, if there is a natural lifespan then in/out of EU is irrelevant. The EU is built on protectionism, but this unfortunately discourages growth as the decisions to invest in the next product/industry lifecycle are always delayed/put off. Brexit May feel uncomfortable, but our country will reap the benefits, and I mean the country not the already wealthy.....

These are all nice words Pete, but the reality doesn't really match up does it? As a country, and this applies to both parties, there has been precious little success in revitalizing/regenerating communities who had a single industry/employer that fell on hard times. The fallout from this failure in post-industrial management is evident throughout the country, and it's these communities that have voted to leave in huge numbers. The leave camp have a duty to offer something up in return but thus far I'm seeing absolutely nothing. Do you really, honestly, believe that Johnson gives two hoots about places like Wigan and Scunthorpe?

@peteblue could you explain it to him? He gets angry at me and starts shouting. He might take it better from you.

Odd that anyone characterises Brexiteers as angry men who can’t follow an argument

Looks like we're headed for a 'get on your knees, close your eyes and open your mouth' Brexit.

Spooky Brexit inbound!

Brilliant!

Planned Brexit trade talks between Liam Fox and US Commerce secretary Wilbur Ross have been cancelled, amid escalating tensions following the release of UK diplomatic memos calling Donald Trump"incompetent", "inept", and "insecure".

I had an invite this morning to an event run by Liam Fox to find the next generation of trade negotiators at some school in Westminster. I assumed it was a serious invitation

You are confusing Johnson, with Brexit, with dying industries. You know it’s a complex issue. I would like to see the issue of dying or uncompetitive industries addressed properly, in or out of the EU......

Why have the Tories done nothing to do so? This is the party you're backing, and many of those suffering voted to leave to get more help and they're getting none (as usual). Will of the people is spoken about a lot in here, do you honestly think the candidate you're backing will do anything at all for the majority of Brexit supporters who aren't wealthy like yourself?

I think Boris will be a breath of fresh air. May said all the right things when she entered no10 but actually achieved nothing. Boris will make things happen......

Come on Pete, you've got absolutely no idea if that will happen or not. He's given no indication what he would do if he was in Number 10, and indeed has little track record of making anything happen, much less for those in post-industrial towns. It's hard to imagine you operated your multi-million pound projects on a wing and a prayer yet you seem happy to have the country run on such a basis. I don't get it.

Probably World War 3..."golly gosh! I just uhm, pressed this big uhm red button that says do not push, by accident Frogmella"
Johnson is an absolute idiot. He never gave any straight answers last night. I am certainly no fan of Hunt but he is the lesser of two evils. How any Tory can possibly vote for the likes of Johnson is beyond me. Does his record of being the worst Foreign Secretary in memory not give an indication of his likely behaviour in the highest office in the land?
