So basically you are agreeing with me......even the German populace disagree with the choice of the next commission President. The whole thing stinks.....

Laughable. Tell me Pete your thoughts on the democratic involvement you have in the selection of the Governor of the Bank of England or the Head of the Civil Service? Or further afield the leaders of the World Bank or the IMF?

Closer to home how democratic was the selection of Farage as Leader of the Brexit Party?

Comparing Juncker to the head of our civil service is the laughable bit. I agree with you regarding selection for the ECB, but the Governor of the BoE is an actual banker, as was his predecessors, Lagarde is not a banker, nor even an economist, she is a lawyer and a Politician.....

Yet she's probably the least questionable selection of the bunch, as she's done well at the IMF.

Not sure why any Brexiteer is getting their Y front in twist over the EU Commission and it's personal you can Trump and the Crown prince of Saudi won't make a jot of difference, the Commission has concluded it's negotiating with the UK over Brexit. Any possible change to the deal will be down members states to change now.

Come now, don't be so cynical. 'Whataboutery' is a word used constantly in this thread by all members... lol
Not quite sure what's being implied here. Is 'bungle' a reference to the mess made of Brexit over the last three years? Personally I don't think it will ever happen. Recent polls put support for Brexit as low as 33% now. Give BJ a bit of time to show the electorate his incompetence then a Labour government can come in and give us a new referendum. A big chunk of the gammons will have frozen to death by then so the result should be the correct one.

The most annoying about all this now - is that when we eventually do leave the EU and the economy nosedives all the Leave mob will do is blame Remainers and the dastardly EU for everything.

You just know it will happen. We've seen it already with this issue of parliament exerting its authority recently. Leavers blame the MPs who are challenging May's plan or debating alternative ideas as anti-democratic traitors yet they are the very directly elected MPs that the whole Leave campaign is supposed to empower post-Brexit! Its utterly ridiculous.

I still actually have a hope we will not leave but my concernt there is that the Labour party are in so much chaos beneath the surface that a Lib Dem/Labour/nationalist coalition would be very weak set against a rabid Gammon grouping of the Brexit party, hard right Tories and the BNP etc.

Intellectually, or versus Telegraph, Mail, Sky, Sun, BBC, Express, Times?

It’s very hard to win a game of football when a teams attack are trying to score at one end and their defence are trying to score at the other.......
