I see Farage has resigned as UKIP leader.......
Sensible decision from Fararge. He's achieved the target he set over 17 years ago and couldn't possibly ever top it. Anything following Brexit would be anti climactic for him so it's better for him to leave on top. Regardless of what anyone thinks of him nobody can deny that he was a major part in one of the biggest political shocks ever.

I absolutely do believe that campaigns must not contain lies and would like to see people prosecuted for deliberately doing so. I also note that Osborne has now changed his tune regarding an emergency budget to put up taxes and instead is offering to cut corporation tax........

Osborne has always wanted to reduce corporation tax and the top rate of income tax. This is a perfect opportunity for him.
He believes the lower the tax rate the less reason for people to look for avoidance routes and therefore an increase in what is actually collected.
There are some statistics that show that a lower top rate does result in more taxes being collected. Not sure if that would still be the case as if higher rates led to people to look for avoidance routes they will not suddenly forget them routes just because the rate has reduced slightly.

Why are you making it personal?

In the coming weeks and months every possible angle will be explored by the Remain establishment to ignore the referendum result and stall on the timetable for invoking Article 50. It is likely that the next PM will be a Remainer, their cabinet is unlikely to have much of a Leave presence in it. One option available to them would be a second referendum. I'm not saying it is right.

Isn't THE only option a general election as this parliament has no legitimacy because the majority wanted to stay in, but the majority of the population wanted out?

you going for the job pete:)
were does this leave UKIP now we are out?
i expect them to pick up the ground that Labour has lost and rebrand itself ,maybe a new name.

I have absolutely no affinity with UKIP. Like many millions of voters I do however believe in an Independent UK.

I would think that UKIP no longer needs to exist as they have now achieved their aims, I would think that they will now rebrand themselves if they wish to be a main political party......

It would be completely immoral and unethical for them to do anything other then respect the results and uphold them. Doing otherwise is a sure fire way to lead to public unrest and disorder.

So 2 of the biggest advocates of Brexit don't want to be leader of their respective parties when the decision is pushed through.

Why's that then?

Apologies, I'm just getting fed up with people saying let's vote again, and again......

One wanted to but was knifed in the back, the other has achieved what he wanted and is stepping aside......what's the problem....

I'm sure Boris is a big enough boy to get over it and run for election if he really wanted.

If Farage was always going to resign, he shouldn't have gone mouthing off to Brussels and making (more of) a tit of himself

But that's just me

It makes no sense for Fararge to remain as leader, he's achieved his ultimate goal and thus his mandate. If the party has any future at all (and I don't it does) then it must remake itself with a new image and leader.

Johnson has never been all that well liked within the upper part (the people who's voices carry power basically) of the Conservative party anyway and its perfectly clear that the knives would be out for him right from the off if he attempted to because PM.

He said he's still going to be doing the MEP job for the next two years. I expect he's just exhausted.........

He's an elected representative and has every single right to go to Brussels saying whatever he likes until either we've officially left or he loses his seat as an MEP. He didn't resign that, just the party leadership. As far as his "mouthing off" goes, Junker and others did their fair share of that before and after Fararge made his speech.

Farage has not achieved his UKIP's, and his, 'goal' as the UK is still in the EU. Will he still be happy to take the EU shilling and not resign as an MEP? I suspect he will go with the money.
