He probably moved out here before you were born .... hes paid taxes NI - wayback he may have become a british citizen......
My sons passport you had a lot to say about that........

That's all irrelevant Joe. I know several Europeans (my wife being one) who have lived in Britain their entire adult life, and paid taxes the whole time. Not one of them is a British citizen and therefore none were permitted to vote in the EU referendum (or in general elections). They are permitted to vote in local council and MEP elections. Your friend must be a British citizen. Whether he's a dual British-Italian citizen depends on the setup in Italy, as some countries don't permit dual citizenship.

Not quite sure what the heck you're banging on about, but prove me wrong at your leisure. Oh, and those middle finger emojis are a sign that you do not have a response to what I have written.

Err, Joe??
Bruce I am really fed up more so over the passport business - I have told you in the past I do not mind immigration then to be called a liar on all fronts -It's despicable particularly over my sons passport being signed when I seen him do it transfering the numbers on the application form - he has adult children may have been over here for an age ....
yet I get told that my sons passport may be invalid.... FGS .....

I doubt you're lying Joe, but you are mistaken that he's Italian as you must have British citizenship to do things like co-sign a passport. As he was able to do that strongly suggests that is what he has. It appears that Italy does allow dual-citizenship, so it is surely what he has. The fact he has children isn't really relevant either, as a Polish friend of ours has been here 20 years, and both her and her two children are Polish.

When you think about it, it's quite perverse that your Anglo-Italian friend has political agency and my Polish friend does not, when the only real difference is that your Anglo-Italian friend was either willing or able to spend several grand on the citizenship test, but that's perhaps another discussion entirely.

Bruce you could argue Scottish people living in the UK were not allowed to vote in the Scottish independence referendum - this country is full of anomalies - I can vouch he did my sons passport - I can only go by what he told me in fact he stated if Brexit happened he would be better off tax wise over his property in Naples ...?

Oh, it's apparently OK to insinuate things in here. Just saying.

Tbf you would expect a higher standard of an MP, compared to a post on GOT. Generally posters on GOT aren't influencers of the greater public. Nobody quotes GOT.

What he's doing is just stupid, or purposely lying and adding fuel to the fire. That's one of my issues with a lot of those Leave politicians, a lot of them are odious cretins. Even though I think the leave vote should be respected.

Italian Dual Citizenship for British Nationals. Dual citizenship (also known as dual nationality) is allowed in the UK. This means you can be a British citizen and also a citizen of other countries.

Got to say, I've genuinely laughed out loud at a lot of this. I'm sure you're a decent guy, Joey, but this is all such hilariously odd rambling

He's right in front of you. Unlike some, he's not talking gibberish either. Go back to your post at page 3280. Have a look at what you wrote. What you said was a lie, that is that an Italian voted in the referendum. An Italian didn't vote in the referendum. A naturalised British citizen from Italy may have voted in the referendum but an Italian didn't. That was a lie, whichever way you dress it up. I didn't call you a liar, I merely said that your statement was a lie. If you didn't explain yourself clearly, whatever. You may research what you write in future before you try to score points on here. I don't believe, by the way, that you are a liar. You merely spout half truths like a lot of Brexiteers. Still need an apology for your mistake?
I think you hit the nail on the head in your own post here mate, with the word mistake.

Most of us know that EU nationals couldn't vote in the referendum. Joey's Italian next door neighbour seemingly voted, so It's fair to say he most probably became a dual citizen. But Joey mistakenly assumed that all EU nationals were able to vote. That makes him wrong but it doesn't make him a liar mate.

I've come out with a few posts in here that turned out to be wrong. I've been pulled up on it and said fair dues. But I was just mis-informed or had an incorrect understanding of the situation. I've never intended to intentionally lie, and in fairness nobody in here has accused me of it.

Being called a liar is very personal and quite hurtful, which is why Joey is upset. If he's guilty of anything it's not being able to admit when you are wrong, but then he wouldn't be the only person in here guilty of that.
