I don't deny there's folks abusing the system. And may they burn for it.

But you've made it out as though it's far bigger than what it is. There are no decent jobs out there - they're all ZHC's and NMW part-time jobs ffs. They're no good to anyone.

I would beg to differ. They may not be good as a long-term thing, but there have been quite a few studies highlighting the damage to ones career if you have large gaps in employment on your CV. Some go as far as to suggest that it's more harmful to your prospects than a criminal record. In terms of your prospects of getting a job you do want therefore, it's better to be searching for it whilst in employment than not.

The leave campaign had an unsung hero. Thank you comrade Corbyn.

For sure. Many political commentators have summarised the two referendum campaigns as 'Feeble' when referencing the remain campaign and 'Spiteful' from the leave.

Which in my opinion is fair.

And don't I know it, Bruce.

That's why you no doubt agree with the Govt, tescos, poundland and the like, sending people (Who's only 'crime' is being unable to find suitable work) to work for their dole because stacking shelves is 'good for their CV's '.

Nevermind it being a blatant breach of s71 Coroner's and justice act, or article 4 ECHR (And what did the EU do about it?)

*shrug* Don't shoot the messenger :)

There will be things where it is, and things where it isn't. For instance, I was at a trade show today for the car industry, and automation was a major theme of the event. It makes absolute sense for the EU to get involved there as a big part of their remit is to provide a unified regulatory environment to support this kind of innovation. This is purely practical so that you don't have different rules, whether for technology, insurance or what not, as you drive through the different countries. It makes it much easier and safer for both manufacturers and consumers.

In a globalised world there are many things where it is logical to cooperate internationally on regulations. That shouldn't be taken to mean we're having one world government however :)

Yeah, I agree. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think what you are alluding to is 'overarching agreements' which is the sensible way forward on a host of issues. But it does not take a European super State to control such things, or everything. That's all...

On this page is a comment about the markets not liking instability, well neither do most working people either, most would like prospects and stability and heaven forfend a fair wage that keeps pace with inflation. Irony, don't you just love it ;)

Looks likely that Borris will be the next PM. Personally I wouldn't want him to become PM because I believe Brexit was a political move for him, not a political conviction. The only thing that gives me some hope is that a few adamant Eurosceptics have given their support to him, so Borris must have given them some guarantees and promises in regards to Brexit.

Nice collage mate, did mum help you with it?

Nah, yours did. ;)

It may be a semantic issue, but I don't think we have now, nor will have any kind of European super state as these kind of regulations fit into what the EU has as it's remit at the moment. No doubt there will be those who might accuse the EU of controlling how 'we' drive or some such though.

If you look back through the recent pages you will see that I posted something from the Express (for which I got pilloried), and something from the Telegraph from two years ago (for which I didn't get pilloried) regarding the expressed desire to move to a single entity in ALL things. I have no doubt the duplicitous Eurocrats are looking to do exactly such a thing, before the EU fragments further. I know this kind of looking into the future is peeing into the wind somewhat, but the background noises are already there...
